The Geek Elite: Coming to Texas This July

Geeks Who Drink was born in Denver. We grew up in the mountains of Colorado and the plains of New Mexico. Once we found a foothold in the four corner states, it was time to expand and go big—like, Texas big.

That’s why we’re taking our 20th Anniversary celebration south to the Lone Star state for its next stop. Texas has more venues running GWD games than any other state in the country. Maybe that shouldn’t be that surprising, since Texas has more of almost everything than other states, including geeks who like to drink.

If this is the first you’re hearing of our Geek Elite events, you’re late to the party—but not too late to join in on the fun. Check out the recap of our Denver event here to see what kind of zaniness occurs and what kind of cash prizes you can win. Now we’re sounding the alarm to bring together all our Texas quizmasters, longtime quizzers, and trivia fans for the next edition of our elite trivia experience.

On Saturday, July 25th, we’ll be taking up residence at The Highball at Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, TX. You can expect a ton of delightful nods to Austin and Texan culture, some guest appearances and heartfelt words from our local quizmasters, and major cash prizes for the top three teams of the night.

Have we got your attention? Here’s what you need to know:

• Team tickets will go on sale Monday, June 29th at 8AM MT. That will reserve your spot for up to six players on your team—so start pulling together your smartest friends for a crack team of nerds.
  
• Quizzing will start at 6PM, but we suggest arriving 40-50 minutes early. This will allow you ample time to check in with our team, grab a drink, and find a table for your team. The early geeks get the elite seats!
  
• Wait a second, are you a quizmaster? Please don’t give us your money! Standby for more information on how to join a QM team and play for fun. 

Whether you’re a current quizzer, a legacy host, a new hire, or geek from many moons ago, we hope this gives you the perfect chance to lift a glass and celebrate with us.
