Geeks Who Drink will be supporting a local organization with a Quiz For A Cause! Here are the details.
Mission statement: “We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.”
All proceeds go directly to Girls on the Run, an organization that teaches life skills including empathy, friendship, problem-solving, relationship-building and conflict resolution to elementary and middle-school aged girls through a developed curriculum. There is a running component to this program’s curriculum; teams train at practice for the season-ending 5K, where all participating school and club groups come together and run! The money fundraised goes directly to scholarship-funded participants, allowing them program access, which includes receiving running shoes, a sports bra if necessary, a running buddy and entry to the 5K! Girls on the Run builds confidence, encourages goal-setting and shows participants that anything is possible when you put your mind to it!
