Rumble in the Pub League Rules

Welcome to Geeks Who Drink! We are dedicated to providing a fun, inclusive, safe, and fair trivia experience for everyone, whether you’re playing at a local venue, participating in live events, or interacting across our digital channels and community forums.

This Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behavior we expect from all players, teams, quizmasters, hosts, and community members. By participating in any Geeks Who Drink event, league, or online platform, you agree to abide by these guidelines.

Commitment to Kindness and Community

Help build community by engaging positively, being respectful and supportive, and giving others the benefit of the doubt. Remember that each user, player, and team is made up of real people.

Don’t Threaten, Hate, Bully, or Harass

Don’t engage in any form of abuse, harassment, or bullying towards other people. This includes trolling, flaming, spamming, doxing, or using threatening, abusive, or hateful language. Hate speech and personal attacks are considered serious violations.

Account Representation and Standards

Accounts and teams should accurately represent yourself. Do not create an account impersonating someone else or using fake information (such as name, email address, or date of birth). Don’t create inappropriate usernames, team names, or avatars.

You agree not to use any team name that is offensive, obscene, hateful, vulgar, defamatory, sexually explicit, racially or ethnically objectionable, or otherwise inappropriate. We reserve the sole right to determine what constitutes an offensive or inappropriate team name. If we determine, in our sole discretion, that your team name violates this clause, we may take any of the following actions without notice or liability to you:

  • Temporarily or permanently change the team name.
  • Suspend or terminate your account and your access to our services.
  • Remove the team from any competition, league, or leaderboard.
  • Ban you from participating in future Geeks Who Drink events.

You may also be banned by any of our partner venues at their sole discretion if you are in violation of venue policies or this Code of Conduct.

Fair Play

We’re committed to fair play, and we’re pretty sure you are too. Don’t participate in activities such as cheating, hacking, botting, boosting, using unauthorized outside references during live gameplay, or tampering in a way that provides unfair advantages to you or your teammates or negatively impacts the experience of other players. Don’t do anything that disrupts the flow of gameplay or community enjoyment.

Harmful and Illegal Activities

While participating in our games and events, you agree not to commit any crimes, online or offline. Your account and participation cannot be used to facilitate harmful or illegal activities. This includes advocating, threatening, or demonstrating harm to yourself, other people, or animals.

Don’t promote illegal activities such as property crime, distribution of illegal weapons, or drug manufacturing. While we aren’t responsible for third-party links or offline behavior, if your account directs users to a channel or website promoting these illegal or harmful behaviors, it will be suspended. We don’t allow accounts that attempt to collect money for an illegal purpose or encourage others to break the law. You may not use your profile, direct messaging, or posted content to promote illegal activity.

Geeks Who Drink has zero tolerance for behaviors that hurt or exploit minors. Users actively facilitating exploitation or attempting to exploit minors will be removed immediately, and we will report all users engaging in such activity to appropriate law enforcement authorities upon removal.

Fraud

Don’t use your Geeks Who Drink presence or account to commit fraud, including unauthorized use of family or friends’ accounts, credit card theft, identity theft, or chargeback schemes.

Guideline Enforcement and Reporting

Please understand that we live in a diverse community that includes people of many different backgrounds. While you may not necessarily agree with someone’s point of view, it may not be a violation of our Code of Conduct.

However, if you notice or suspect hurtful or anti-community behavior at any Geeks Who Drink event, or see something that you feel violates our Code of Conduct, please notify your Quizmaster or reach out to our team directly at info@geekswhodrink.com.

How We Enforce These Guidelines

We review reports on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the severity and frequency of the violation, Geeks Who Drink reserves the right to take any of the following enforcement measures:

  • Issuing formal warnings or reprimands.
  • Removing offending content, team names, or player profiles.
  • Disqualifying players or teams from specific events, scores, or league standings.
  • Temporarily or permanently suspending user accounts or access to Geeks Who Drink platforms.
  • Banning individuals or teams from future Geeks Who Drink events, both online and in-person.
  • Reporting illegal behavior or exploitation directly to law enforcement officials.

Violations of the code of conduct may also result in the stoppage and/or cancellation of a Geeks Who Drink event. Geeks Who Drink and its network of quizmasters and hosts reserve the right to end an event due to these violations.

We are committed to fairness and will review each issue on a case-by-case basis. If you feel your account was unfairly suspended, please contact us at info@geekswhodrink.com.
