Oy With the Questions Already: A Gilmore Girls Quiz!

One night only.
Thursday, February 16th at select Geeks Who Drink venues.

Registration is REQUIRED!

Find teammates and talk smack on the Facebook event!

Will you only throw your life away if he has a motorcycle? Do you take your coffee with a shot of cynicism? Is your brain a wild jungle full of scary gibberish? Prove it on February 16th when we, by popular demand, bring Oy With the Questions Already: A Gilmore Girls Quiz to a handful of new cities!

You've got roughly two weeks to binge all 7 seasons (and a miniseries) of mother-daughter bonding, so prep that Coffee I.V. and get watching. As always, we'll focus on the TV show so don't worry about those young adult novels too much. As always, anything and everything is fair game in Round 8 because it is "Random Knowledge".

The quiz is $5 per player to play and we’ll be accepting cash only. Winners will take home their share of that money. Otherwise, normal Geeks Who Drink rules apply. No phones, notes, or any other cheating will be allowed. Your team is also limited to 6 players, so ask only your favorite boyfriends to join the team.

Check below for venues and times and make sure to arrive early. You are required to register your team in advance (HERE!) and registrations are now closed.

CHICAGO | 8pm | Sedgwick's Bar & Grill | 1935 N Sedgwick St, Chicago, IL 60614 (SOLD OUT!)
LOS ANGELES | 7:30pm | Iron Triangle Brewing Company - 1581 Industrial St, Los Angeles, CA 90021
NEW ORLEANS | 8pm | Twelve Mile Limit - 500 S Telemachus St, New Orleans, LA 70119 (SOLD OUT!)

Can people under 21 play?

It’s up to the bar, and each venue’s going to be a little different. Check with them directly before you make any plans.

Should I wear a costume?

YES! Some of our venues may have a costume contest if there's enough participation, but that's up to the venue and host.

How do you sign up? Where do you buy tickets?

You can register your team by filling out this form (http://bit.ly/ThemeQuizReg). This is NOT a reservation of seating, but it will ensure that we have ample space for all our teams. We anticipate our theme quizzes will sell out and we will turn away teams that did not pre-register.

How do you change your team name, number of players on the team or cancel a registration?

After you've registered, you can make changes to it by emailing us a info@geekswhodrink.com.

The quiz is sold out? What do I do now?

You can still register for the event for a stand-by spot! If there's sufficient interest, or a team drops out, we'll let you know! We make no promises that you'll be able to get in, but if we can make it happen, you'll be the first to know.

Is this a free quiz?

No, it's $5 per person to play (bring cash!), and we'll ask you to pay for everyone on your team before we give you quiz materials. If a team member is going to be late, we won't ask you pay in advance, but if they fail to pay on arrival, your team will be DQ'd.

What's the maximum/minimum players per team?

There is no minimum, but if you want to win, you should have a fully staffed squad. We're happy to help you find teammates in advance on social media or on the day of. Team maximum is strictly six players, as always. Everyone sitting with you is considered part of your team.

Do spectators have to pay?

Yes. Yes, they do. Spectators generally have to pay for sporting events, right? This also goes for Geeks Who Drink employees that aren't working at the event and the people they make love to.

Can my dad/girlfriend/friend sit at our table and not play?

No. Six people max on a team and all players must pay. If they're sitting with you and not playing, we're going to ask that they move.

Can you host this at BLANK bar in BLANK city?

Probably not. You can register for the quiz under "Other" and if we see a lot of interest, we'll look into adding the quiz or bringing it to you sometime in the future.

How is the prize amount determined?

In most cases, the prize amount is 50% of the total take. Why not 100%? Because we have to cover our costs of producing and marketing these event quizzes. If the pot is sufficiently large, we'll split it between first and second or first, second and third place.

Will BLANK TOPIC be covered?

Everything is fair game. Study hard. Apply yourself. And we never give clues.

How long will the quiz last?

Our regular quizzes run about 1.5-2 hours, but themed quizzes require a bit more heavy lifting in terms of logistics, scoring and extra stuff we may have planned. Average is about 3 hours.

I'd like to help promote the quiz/talk to you on my podcast/contribute some bonus prizes.

Great! Contact us at info@geekswhodrink.com and we'll see about making that happen.
