Pretty Sure I Learned About Plinko in Econ 101. Wait, those Were Pinkos.Jared
I'm not sure how I made it out of this weekend without falling asleep in my car, but somehow I managed. It was Halloween weekend, which for Rocky Horror performers is like Xmas weekend for churchgoers. We had a show in Pittsburg (East Bay) on Friday night, a show in SF on Saturday night, and a show in SF on Monday night. That's exhausting enough. But I also had my day job Friday morning, my day job Monday morning, and my day job Tuesday morning. That makes staying awake a bit tougher. So instead of going to bed early on Thursday night to prepare for it, I saw The Adicts live down in Santa Cruz. But I survived the weekend, I had a great time, all three Rocky Horror shows sold out, and much fun was had by all. So if I seemed exhausted and a bit loopy last night, it's because I was.
Still, we had a great quiz last night. Round 1 was guessing the movie role from the actors, which isn't always easy. Round 2 and 3 both had clues to help you get things right, but that wasn't necessarily helpful. Round 4 was bad theater, round 5 was bad candy, and round 6 was bad children. And yet they were all good rounds. Round 7 was one of the easier round 7's we've had in a while, with a perfect score for one team. And round 8 had everyone getting at least half the points which is unheard of for round 8. Well done teams!
We had some newcomers last night, some regulars, and some prizes (eventually). Beat the Meetles were 8th on their first try and I'm Debt Free came in a respectable 4th! Ancient Mariners were back and took 7th. Soleil sans Adam dropped to 6th. Make Merkins Great Again were back again and took 5th. Ronald's Raygun and Smarty Pints tied for 2nd place, and by two points (and the perfect round 7), Book Hockey won it all!
There is no quiz next week at The Half Moon Bay Brewing Company due to election night parties, but at least that means we can stop seeing campaign posts on our Facebook pages. See you in two weeks, quizzers for Tuesday night Geeks Who Drink!
Jared is most definitely a geek who drinks. In addition to hosting a pub quiz, you're likely to find him in a mosh pit at a punk rock or thrash metal show. He collects records and comic books and types about himself in the 3rd person. His greatest trivia accomplishment is he once won a trip to London on a game show that he wasn't a contestant on. His greatest drinking achievement is the 30 Equis Challenge. He's smart, funny, and good looking. So, naturally, he's taken. By his wife of over 15 years. Play his quiz every Tuesday in HMB!
