What You Should Know About Knowing

Professor Truman

Last night’s fancy booze was Labrot & Graham, Woodford Reserve, Double Oaked. It’s a delicious whiskey. Spend the extra dough every once in while and treat yourself. Last night we filled up Piper Pub with 13 teams. Most were regulars, but at least three of the were new to me.  Especially Crapital, the team at bar that just came across our quiz. They had a blast and I’m pretty sure we’ll see them again. However, that’s just speculation. Now here are two facts and some opinions on the elusive perfect game.

Fun fact #1 Last night’s unofficial theme was 1997. It went hand-in-hand with the 3rd place prize, a sealed Hot Wheels Pro Racing Ernie Irvan race car, 1997 Edition.

Fun fact #2 Here’s a list of all the foods mentioned in last night quiz. Ice Cream, Kit Kat, hot dog, rabbit, apple, oatmeal, seeds, beans, beer, Margarita mix, Milky Way, Mars Bar, milk, bear, frozen pizza, and swordfish.

(Opinion & Advice) Eat food people. It could help you on a quiz question someday.   If you want, you could get to know some recipes. Maybe the origin words of the ingredients. I mean, if going for a perfect score is your teams goal. You’ll also want bone up on mash-ups. (It’s like studying with a multiplier.) Not just songs, but movies, book titles and names. Characters and authors. The places they’ve played and where they’ve lived. Get tricky with your mind. Find the right place between literal and figurative. Settle in the truth of math, enjoy the chaos of the pop culture., reflect on the past. Know the world, where it came from and how it got to be like this. Don’t forget classical music and just make you study crap nobody really wants to, religion. Old, new, past, current, cult, popular, obscure and (the worst) the one you ran away from. This is the sweat and tears you’ll have to sacrifice if you want perfect score. It’s going to be so worth it when it happens. I'’d sure love to score one.

Now to the important news of yesterday, who won what.

3rd place – Don’t Break My Shart, My Achy, Breaky, Shart [59 pts.] Who immeadiately opened the 20 year old seal on the toy car and did with it what was intended. Played with it. Taking it off all sorts of sweet jumps.

2nd place – The Rubes [64 pts.]

1st place – Provost Truman [69 pts.] I did NOT award any extra points for one of the best sounding team names of all time.

Until next time, keep hitting the books.
