Dirty boys and girls prefer hard cheese
Quizmaster Zero: Scoobses Edition

Tonight had the best turnout that ze Playground has seen since its triumphant return last November, and once again we were outside on the patio.  This time it was my call though, as the evening weather has been quite nice of late, and I feel like we should take advantage of it while we still can.  In honor of tonight's Round 1 titled "Duh", I'm going to start off ze blog with a quick episode of "What did you learn?” quiz edition:   According to the IRS, 2.765% of Americans have an income above $343,927.  (Er…no…it's 1%).

Top song of 1970: Unicorn Farts by Bread
Quizmaster Zero: Scoobses Edition

Greetings, Playground geeks and drinkers!  Tonight we were exiled to the patio; though I'd say exile is a strong word considering how awesome it was out there tonight!  It was a lovely Tucson evening where the temperature was nice, the atmosphere was vaguely electric, and for being nighttime, surprisingly good lighting.  My only complaint would be the fucking planes that kept going overhead during Round 1, but all in all, not too bad at all.  I wonder if we'll be on the patio as long as the weather is nice…we shall see, friends.   The one

Quizmaster Zero: Scoobses Edition

Howdily doodily, quizareenos.  I always enjoy starting off my blog with three words that my computer doesn't recognize…get the red squiggles rollin' early.  Tonight was, as always, a fun evening at Playground for quiz.  In addition to ze quiz, Playground had a local business mixer on ze roof, as well as a movie night on the patio, so there were lots of folks in and out for the evening, and we hope to see them all quizzing very soon.   We had some fun quizzers and even funner answers, so I do believe tonight has earned an extra long version of Scoobs' "What did we learn?" Captain

On Wednesday, we bork bork bork
Quizmaster Zero: Scoobses Edition

Every once in a while we get that one round that sparks a lively discussion among ze quizzers.  Tonight’s round 1 actually sparked a lively debate among ze quizmasters.  And I started it all!  Mwahahahahaaaa.  Eh, I really need to be more judicious in my use of an evil laugh…there was nothing sinister about it, honestly.  In the interest of fairness and anonymity, I won’t really divulge any of the discussion in here…after all, it is a private group for quizmasters to talk about quizmastery.  But I genuinely appreciated the distraction from work, and it’s always a lot of fun to hear different points of view

I Love Lucy and Desi . . . and Bleu and Skittles, too
Lady Busty

My two, oldest cats are Lucy and Desi. My ex and I named them in 2003, after he got them from a hoarder. We wanted to name them after a famous duo with a red-head. First, we went with Fred and Ginger, but these two ended up being far less graceful than their namesakes. So, we went with the comedic Lucy and Desi, though genders ended up being reversed. Lucy doesn't care. He has NO 'splaining to do, TYVM. I have always wondered if Desi swears at him in rapid Cat Spanish, however. So, last night's Round One made me think of all four of our cats. If we already have Lucy and Desi (Ricky), then who's Fred and Ethel?

I was born in Scotland to American parents. I spent most of my youth moving around the world as a Navy brat (think: every two years), spending the most time in the UK. Don't let this Midwestern accent fool you. I'm a Brit. Try as I might, I will pronounce and spell things the British way (it is English, after all) and can have a dry, naughty sense of humour. I love puns to no end. Though I am homesick for the Isles, I have adopted Tucson as my home. I've done enough moving for anyone.

What else? I am a Gemini, so there is (at least) one other side to me and I am incredibly indecisive. If there is ever a decision to be made, please, make it for me. I'll be forever in your debt.

I am a Lady, in that I own land in Scotland: two parcels .

I am honest, though I would never say, to any fault. Try me. I'll answer pretty much any question.

I have two degress in Theatre and run the library at a middle school.

I live with my husband, our seven rabbits, six chickens, four ducks, four cats, two dogs, two goats, and two turtles.

It's been a very good year
Quizmaster Zero: Scoobses Edition

When I was downloading tonight's quiz, I discovered via my internal GWD profile that today is actually my one year anniversary with Geeks Who Drink.  It's been a pretty awesome journey so far, and I'm pretty psyched for it to continue in something that resembles a forward direction. Round 2 tonight was one of my favorites ever.  It featured covers of songs by Postmodern Jukebox.  If you haven't heard of them, you're honestly doing yourself a disservice.

Who needs MJF when you're a QMMF? Not me!
Quizmaster Zero: Scoobses Edition

Ah, April fool's day.  The one day of the year that Facebook is full of unimaginative jokes, male pregnancies, chicks that just got engaged and/or pregnant (noticing a theme here?).  Speaking of themes, tonight's theme was Kevin Bacon.  I suppose that since the GWD writers assumed that he has been in everything, he would be in every round of tonight's quiz in one way or another.  Have you ever played "Six degrees of Kevin Bacon" - it's a funsies party game where you have to name an actor or actress and trace them backwards (by common thespians) to Kevin Bacon.  I've only played it myself

Men are from bars, Women have no peenus
Quizmaster Zero: Scoobses Edition

Seeing as how I've not quite been a Quizmaster extraordinaire for even a year yet, I'm sure there's plenty of material I have missed out on.  But I think tonight's Round 1 was the first round I've seen exclusively about drinking and all sorts of booze-houndery.  I mean, it is Geeks Who Drink.  Either way, it was quite a fun round…and just reading about some of ze shenanigans these folks got up to, I feel like if I'm going to have some kind of legendary drinking career, I seriously need to step up my game.  After all, I've never judged America's
