Seriously, where are you guys coming from these days? Busy busy! We had 19 teams tonight and one of them was basically 2 teams because they were enormous. Also, I hope you’re going home tonight to watch Pretty Woman because it’s cannon and you should absolutely know where Wilshire Boulevard is. Then when you’re done, enjoy Tom Sawyer. Both excellent ways to spend a weekend. Congratulations to Hillary is Feeling the Bern. What has Bill Been Up To? for winning with what seems to be a required 80 points. They had solid rounds 2 and 8 and a couple of perfect rounders. A goof effort to Conjuntivirish,

...When I Pour Shots!
Quizler

Tonight was definitely a record breaker. In the end we had 21 teams. A few of them only played 1 round each, but most stayed all night and rocked it. We had two guys on opposite sides of the room actually cheer for Hamilton, the man not the musical. I thought that was weird but they thought it was weird that I thought that so I guess it balances out. Congrats to Flesh-Colored Potatoes for coming up from behind to win it all. Second place, Heads Up: Tonight’s Winner is Brought to You by a Coin Toss wasn’t too far behind, but first place won even using their joker in the wrong round. It was nice of NextGen to give some fun prizes out too.

The Quiz Will Go On as Expected
Quizler

It’s good to be back. I may have forgotten a few things, but I’m as champion as ever. How’d you like being challenged this week? That round 2 made everyone a little overconfident and then round 8 came in and kicked your asses. It was fun to watch from my pedestal, literally. Congrats to Insert Pun Here, who had a lame team name but brought it in the end to grab first place. And to We Wanted to Believe…, whose use of an ellipses was the joke I think, but snatched second place by just one point. It was actually Kylo Ren and Stimpy who got the highest round 8 with 11 points. They needed that too because

Happy National Cheese Lovers Day
Laurz

I had a great time mastering the quiz at The Stone Church tonight.  It was my first unsupervised quiz, and I had a lot of fun.  I even got a compliment from our second place winners Mr. McFeely's Speedy Child Delivery on my music choice of Manchester Orchestra.  You guys have great taste.  Speaking of great taste, today is National Cheese Lovers Day.  I am a cheese lover, my favorite is goat cheese.  I don't think I ate nearly enough cheese to celebrate.  The Canada questions reminded me of the South Park movie.  Was anyone else obsessed with that, or was it just me?  My friends in high school and I had

"Sh" is the Word
Quizler

Nice work today. I think we had some good names and some good laughs. My favorite team name was The Return of Adam Levine because he is admitting his resemblance and embracing it. The worst answer of the night goes to Mel Gibson: Thanks a lot, Obama! for “The Incomparable Kimmy Schmidt.” What a shame; they were so close. An exciting thing about Newmarket is that the river is brackish. When I take my kayak out it gets filthy and there’s this frothy brown stuff that happens. Once I saw a huge dead fish floating by. I think it had three eyes. I gave it a wide birth. Maybe I use the word “exciting” in

The Making of a Quizzler
Quizler

The Stone Church has slowly become a quiz only bar n Wednesday nights. It seems like we no longer have people just here to drink. Ir if they come in for that, they quickly get enthralled by the quiz. I haven’t been heckled in I don’t know how long, and the audio rounds are so quiet. Is there a quiz vigilante roaming the floors out there keeping everyone in check? Tonight was tough for the most part but then in round 8 many of you came alive for some pretty high scores. Congrats to Janice from Accounting for the perfect round 8. Too bad they used their joker in round 7, which was also pretty impressive. We had a nice tie in the end

Happy new year’s quiz! This is my third new year with Geeks Who Drink but the first time I’ve hosted during the holidays. The Stone Church seems to be increasing their faith in me. Or maybe the local music scene needs to amp it up. No, I think it’s the former. You guys have been with me through some pretty fun years and it seems like maybe I should think about changing my signature sign off. We’ll see. Tonight was a good one. Not the highest scoring but some pretty solid rounds. HGH You Taste So Good took it home with only two players and I don’t think they would’ve done it without their solid teamwork (which

Thanks to those of you who were game and good sports tonight. Sometimes it’s hard to count to six, ya know. Congratulations to JonBenet Ramses III, who besides having a pretty great name, won first place, fair and square. It was their round 8 knowledge that clinched the win. Welcome to our second place team, first timers (not at the Church, just at the quiz), Geriatrics, who won second place fair and square and were even willing to give up their prize because they were drunk enough to believe people

Tonight was a nice night. We had some meatloaf, some blueberry pie, some good laughs, some healthy competition. The Grinch’s Heart Wasn’t the Only Thing That Grew That Day came in first because they are smart and signed up for the weekly email, which told them to study weird rehab places. They killed it on that round when everyone else faltered. Death by a Thousand Pricks came in second for like the millionth week in a row. Nice work, guys. You must have a lot of Church bucks hoarded away. My favorite wrong answers go to our first place team for thinking Entourage is a show that make you smarter, and to our second place team

Dear Diary, Tonight I went to the Stone Church for some quizzing and it was a lot of fun. A bunch of nice teams showed up and they played pretty damn well. First place when to my buds, Toe Balls and Meat Breasts and I will stay friends with them despite that name. They won even though they used their joker in round 2 instead of their perfect round 3. Pretty smart peeps. Second place went to some good folks called, 8-Track Fanny Pack who also got a perfect round 3. There were some funny wrong answer tonight too, diary. For instance, Forgot About Dre-Adele seems to think Flo Rida is a dental hygiene

I may not have been able to speak properly, which isn’t exactly new, but you guys managed to get some pretty high scores. Way to bring out the best and brightest tonight! Congrats to first place, Melissa Joan-Fart for coming up with the randomest team name and for scoring double digits in 3 rounds and still managing to hold on to their joker until their highest round. Hello my friendly quizzers! Thanks for coming out for a fun, relatively warm night! I know you’ve all got Halloween costumes to plan and whatnot, so it’s nice to see your faces during such an important time. Choosing a costume has always been hard for me. I’m not too crafty and I have a hard time making decisions anyway. This year I thought of a random idea in the spring, stuck with it, ordered some stuff off amazon, and not i’m ready to roll. Now, I just have to keep it clean so that it lasts two nights of partying in a row. I didn’t think to get a backup! Congrats to our first place team tonight, Sarah Got Crabs in Manch-Vegas
