What you need to know about me...

I do my thing and then some.

Come to my quiz and I'll make sure you have a good time!

You may have noticed something different about your Quizmaster, last night. While I couldn’t deliver on the mutton chops, I hope y’all still had *a blast*. I was more than *pleased* to step in for Caribbean Joe at Congress. I’ve only ever subbed as a scorekeeper at other venues, so it was a *big* night for me. Thanks for not setting fire to me and running me out of town!

Aside from a great quiz, there was much cause for celebration. Not only has Jeff the Chemist returned from Africa, but it was his birthday. Sally was also out enjoying some good ol’ birthday quiz. *Gee golly*, Jeff and Sally sure do celebrate birthdays differently. Jeff leans toward small, quiet festivities. Meanwhile, Sally wasn’t giving a *care*, and brought out a team of about 50 dudes. Jeff’s team may have won the quiz, but Sally gets an honorable mention for being a *rockstar*.

Quiz talk.

Another *wonderfully* stereotypical my Jewish grandma round made it into the quiz. She even made mention of American Psycho and Brokeback Mountain, two of my very favorite movies. Ah yes, a boy and his chainsaw. I guess I’m just a sucker for love stories.

So, I don’t listen to Country music and I kind of *dislike* Taylor Swift. I don’t begrudge others their right to listen to her *music*, but am I the only one who thinks it’s *really creepy* that she wrote a song called Tim McGraw? I understand that it’s not about him, but isn’t it? Seems like a stalkerific, hidden message. Like, Tim, if you’re listening…

Round 6: TGI Friday I’m In Love, was a truly inspired Before & After round. We gave you some clues to a restaurant chain and something else that shares a word or syllable. Major Tom and I agreed that our favorite was Waffle House of 1000 Corpses.

I really love Sandra Bullock, especially in Practical Magic, however, I would like to know what kind of things were considered in her Oscar nomination for The Blind Side. Did no one address the really, really bad Southern accent?

Round 8: *Samuel L. Jackson*. ‘Nuff said.

Courtney and Nicki gave most excellent service and y’all were an *absolute joy* of an audience!!! Joe will be back next week, but as always, I’ll be around to play the quiz. Come say hi.

** denotes a part of this blog where I would have inserted the F word or some other vulgar phrase. My homeboy Joe has a little different style and I respect that, so use your imagination.
