Fine, full night at Raglan. Didn't really get good pictures tonight. Maybe it was the heat but several people just flat out refused to participate in photo time. That's ok, I could talk about football and the fact that my fantasy team is gonna rule. No?
Care to refer to the "Beautiful Game"? I went to the Sporting KC (really that's their name) game last week and was quite surprised at the size and quality of the stadium. I caught some live music prior to the game from a group called the Paperclips. I don't like the name for the band but their music is rocking. Inside the stadium was an action packed full sized European-Styled edge to edge pitch. I learned "pitch" at the game too. MLS, who knew.
Enough futbol. Let's talk quiz.
- Has Hammer (MC) not made it into this realm? Do people think he sold out? Did he actually spend in upwards of 30 Million?
- Very few people know who The Flight of the Conchords are. That should change.
- Is Corpus Christie, TX as dirty as it used to be? Like Spring Break '83 dirty.
- The Phillies are good. Or maybe the rest of the NL East sucks.
- Zinedine Zidane has to grace my blog as his name can stand alone on it's inherent alliteration.
- Mrs Paul's is fish stix. We don't eat much fish from a box, as we have some decent sushi here in KC. I had no idea what a Mrs Paul's product was.
- I wish Yiddish was more widely spoken.
See you next week.

I knew it was going to be a great night when Con Agra is in town. What's Con Agra? Banquet frozen meals. Chef Boyardee, Healthy Choice, Hebrew National hot dogs, Hunts, Rhedi Whip, Slim Jim..... The list goes on and on. I was so glad to have the bosses competiing in tonights quiz. It made for a great time for us to poke fun at the meal-in-a-box gusy.
Then we broke out the mustaches. I'm not sure when it happened but those little fun guys were passed around more than they should have. Some are still attached to my laptop and pencil-sharpener. Yes, I own a pencil sharpener. And use it on a regular basis.
Thank God for Football being back!!.!! It was a touching moment between Jeff Saturday of the Colts and Robert Kraft of the Patriots. Bitter rivals, hugging. I'm only a little jaded about the lockout this season. All will be forgotten if my fantasy team is good.
Stuff I learned tonight from the quiz.
-All in the Family is stil relevant. To this day.
-Cat Stevens and Cat Powers are not of the same genus.
-Rambo is not relevant, regardless of entries in the Guinness Book of World Records.
-Is Guinness the Beer and Guinness the Book of Records from the same genus?
-No one cared about the movie New Moon. At least I read the book.
-No one knows who Dr Mudd was, I read his story and was facinated.
-Smile Train could save a whole lot of time and money if they used fake mustaches. (This wasn't my own revelation, it belongs to the group, I Wish I Had Went To Rehab) I admit though it did make a LOT of people laugh. Shame on us.
-Tesla sucks.
-My coccyx is not just a funny word.
See you next week.

..................And my IPOD took a crap this evening. I'm proud to say that I got a lot of use out of it. I bought my IPOD Nano (Black 8 Gig) Generation 2 back in December of 06. I used it this afternoon and dropped several new songs to it today in preparation for GWD. Thanks, Steve Jobs for creating an opportunity for me to own a piece of your company.
The show had to go on and luckily Adam Dworkis had an IPOD also. Good for my stock, good for the Geeks Who Drink. We had a drunk pair in this eveining, sort-of celebrating her 29 1/2 birthday. Shurrrrrreeeeee it was.
Items we sat and pondered on....
Words that start and end with 'C'.
One of the easiest ways to knock out a drinking crowd, playing Kenny G's Songbird.
People guessing what country was the tops in categories that barely distracted the people at the bar from a great late inning game between the Royals and the White Sox. Suck it , Chicago.
Why aren't there more wrestling events locally? I'm talking the REALLY local ones. With dudes I knew in high school. I could travel to Springfield for one....
The mash-up travelogues might have been too difficult for a round 6 with everyone drinking and what-not. Although anything later and we might have had a mutiny on our hands with hot, drunk and mal-intentioned folks.
I have not watched the original Alien. Some of it but not all.
I now know what the S&P does. At least in relation to individual stock ownership. Thanks Jim Cramer. Thanks, Geeks Who Drink.
