I have been on stage in front of an audience in one way or another for just over 26 years. Started off by trying out for a children's musical theatre company when I was 13 (mainly because I wanted to get into the pants of the girl who told me I had a nice voice and should try out). That led to many underwhelming roles in high school drama and then NOTHING for about 6 years.

Then, as luck would have it, I was driving around looking for my next ho-hum job when I heard an advertisement on the radio for an improv comedy show, ComedySportz. I took a friend of mine for her birthday, volunteered for one of the games and got a few laughs; more importantly, a resurgence for that heroine-like need of strangers being impacted by something I did on stage. I auditioned the following day and was invited to join the very next week...and I have not looked back.

Nowadays I pay the bills as a technical writer for a local startup software company and perform / write comedy whenever I get a chance. If I have one professional goal it is to invent a new font called "Sarcastica". I can be seen at ComedySportz, occasionally performing at The Hideout Theatre and various other improv venues as well as on-mic and behind the scenes with Master Pancake Theater.

My wife and I have been married since 1999. I met her while karaoke DJ'ing at the Common Interest. She was the manager so I married her for job security. We have two amazing sons who are catching on to my antics WAYYY too soon.

My life can be hectic at times but I wouldn't change a thing!

"Hey Dav, we want you to host a quiz show that is cleverly written, hilarious at times, encouraged by booze, and puts you on a microphone. What do ya say?"

Shit yeah!

I don’t know about you guys but I am still experiencing heart palpitations from last night’s quiz! Oh sure, some of you might think that a quiz is a little silly to get so worked up about and you might be right at some run-of-the-mill, hacked directly from internet, unimaginative, and downright boring quiz event. But at my show, excitement is the name of the game.

We ended up with 16 teams and one PACKED house as quiz time rolled around. Speaking of “rolling”, the Texas Roller Girls popped in to our venue sporting all of their wonderfully aggressive hotness and pimping their upcoming final bout of the season. If you have not seen them in action, you need to get yourself over there and check them out. They are a spectacle for sure and a good time for all! Thank you Bell Starr and Lady Stardust for gracing us with your presence and for not killing any of my quizzlings.

As a matter of fact, the only casualty from last night was poor Madame Quiz. She must have pissed you off last week because you all showed up with a vengeance and completely tore her a new one! She did not play nicely either. You were just out for blood. She started you off with a nice round on arcade games then tried to trick you up with some marching band music. But you would have none of it and righteously aced those rounds. Next came a “little” American geography which you destroyed with all but one team scoring a perfect 8. Round four’s “M” TV through a couple of you but you quickly made up for any lost ground in the visual round ( I cannot say the same for the Republican Party). Round six had you sweating a little as the quiz finally found her stride but it was just too little too late. Round seven’s talking toys tapped some fond memories and round 8 was random.

Before I get to the scores I would like to welcome back my lovely ladies from the outside. Dina, Melissa, and Katie. I was so happy to see you had not abandoned me…err…the quiz!

Our second place team with an impressive score of 75 (and even more impressive handwriting) was Dude Where's My Segway! But our champions last night eked it out by a margin of 2 points! Congratulations Michelle Has My #FLILF Vote!

Thanks for coming out last night everybody. I know it can get a little hectic and the patio area can tend to be a little audio-unfriendly but your perseverance and patience are only a couple of the reasons I love hosting this quiz for you. Come back next week and bring a friend!

-Until then…
