A grand, noisy night at the Maple Leaf Pub this week. I suppose NFL fans were so overjoyed to see the real referees back on the job that they couldn't help but hoot and bellow at the television in simple joy. Still, a lucky 13 teams were able to look away from the captivating spectacle of a professionally adjudicated football game long enough to join our quiz.
And what a quiz it was! We certainly didn't make this week easy for you. I think the night's music round may have been one of the hardest in recent months, crammed with bands that have names no one cares about (Of Monsters and Men, Imagine Dragons) or obscure tracks from otherwise famous artists (Big Time by Peter Gabriel).
In fact, our top two teams tonight (That's So Reagan and A Flacco Seagulls) were the only teams to do tolerably on Round 2, using the joker to propel themselves into the lead for the remainder of the game.
I was curious to see how teams would react to our second Listen Carefully round ever, this time a scene from the movie Clue. I was a bit concerned that it would tank everyone, but I apparently underestimated the love of Clue. A couple of people were even able to quote along with the clip!
The dragon-filled Round 5 was a popular, high-scoring round. A few of you uber-geeks even went above and beyond and named the dragons as well as the movies they were in. It's a shame I couldn't give you bonus points for such a display of geekery. On the other hand, you did force me to relive the traumatic memory of seeing Dragonheart, so I'm not inclined to be generous with the points.
