10 years ago, I left the frozen tundra of Canada to escape the blistering cold of winter, only to move to South Texas where I now run the risk of combusting in the blistering heat of summer.  Apparently I'm drawn to extremes.  No middle of the road for this Crazy Canuck.

I was in severe need of a creative outlet and a place where yelling obsenities at people was acceptable, (and wouldn't get me fired).  Then one day I was handed a microphone by the Overlords at Geeks Who Drink.  I was instructed to "Go forth and entertain drunken nerds with wit and snark.  Oh, and ask them these quiz questions while you're there."

And so I did, and it was good.

If you quiz at a venue where video rounds are shown for round 7, then chances are it was produced by me.  I hope you enjoy them.

I have been accused of "hating everything" but I actually like many things.  I am a total geek for Star Wars, the works of Neil Gaiman, The Ramones, Shonen Knife, Nerdist, (Classic) Dr. Who, pro wrestling, good beer, poutine, British television and cheese.  All else is pointless, irrelevant and a waste of time.

I am also a part-time ninja.

So, who's dumb ass idea was it for me to drink one of those giant 100oz beer tubes during quiz last night? Mine? Oh, right. Well you can all take great joy in my pain today, because I'm paying for that little act of stupidity right now. Happy Birthday to ME! YAK! I think that maybe I should have actually eaten something before quiz and maybe the end result would have been different. But I thank you all for coming out last night while we celebrated my return from Canada (did you miss me) and my birthday.

Some of you are really sick monkeys. I was given a birthday gift from Stephanie, Ninfa, and Steven that had me horrified. Then I was amused. And then I was slightly aroused. I'm not going to bother describing it, because it's one of those things that just needs to be seen, so the pic will be included with all the other quiz photos.

We also had some fresh meat for you to devour. The Geek Overlords sent us a sacrifice. His name was Lex and he was at quiz to try his hand at being a Quizmaster. In my opinion he knocked it out of the park. Well done, Lex. Lex was feeling a tad inadequate watching me suck down that mighty beer tube, so did his best to keep up with me. I think he'll fit in to the GWD family just fine.

We started off easy with What's Your Poison? And we had a fun round on Lance Armstrong, Neil Armstrong or Stretch Armstrong. I never had the original Stretch, but I knew people who did. That was one weird toy. Wasn't the weird goo inside really toxic or something? I don't remember.

I let Lex take the reins for rounds 4 and 6, which gave me a bit of time to further drive the nail in my own coffin and drink more of that beer tube. From about that point on the quiz got a little hazy for me. But I powered through. There were some decent scores for round 8, so I can only assume that I was coherent enough to be understood.
