Will LaTulippe (The Duke of Allston)

I grew up in Burlington, VT, and moved here on a whim in 2003.  Became the quiz presenter at White Horse Tavern in 2005, where I worked for 7 years for another quiz company. Then Geeks Who Drink came a-callin'.  I first rejected their overtures, but joined the family when they offered to pay me in hair gel.

When I'm not hosting your quiz or hitting on you, I enjoy horse racing, kayaking, baseball, and football.  I once won $33,000 on a $48 horse ticket.  I was on "Judge Mathis" in 2004, and also appeared locally on the Red Sox trivia game show "The Batters' Box" in 2009.  Yet, I still get recognized for appearing for ten seconds on a casting special for "Beauty and the Geek" in 2005.  Seriously, it's aired on television maybe twice, and people recognize it.  It's stupendous.

I knew big things were afoot when White Horse Tavern manager Canadian Paul told me "BU School of Management is coming in tomorrow."  I thought that would add maybe 12 teams to the usual maximum of 24.  Indeed it did...and then some.  A whopping 43 entries took part in tonight's game!

Even with the plethora of talent playing in tonight's game, it was not a particularly high-scoring affair.  "Listen Carefully" audio rounds have so far turned out prickly for some, but many of the teams have a good pair of ears and a knack for retention.  The round that turned out to be more difficult across the board than I had anticipated was Round 1, Recently in Stuff.  Read the papers, folks...that round is used frequently during our games.

This was our second Thursday game, and the second Thursday game won by U Mad?  Last night's winner was celebrating a birthday, tonight's winner was celebrating the visit of one of the player's mom's.  She was the good luck charm that propelled the superstars to a three point victory over Banana Co.

Thanks for being part of the biggest Geeks event in Boston so far, folks!  HUGE tip of the cap to John Tullar for helping me to score the game.  We would have been here until 11 without his help tonight. Off to the 802 for the weekend after busting my tail all week...we'll talk Sunday at 8.  Enjoy legitimately officiated football!
