Sare is a former river guide and professional college student. She grew up in Utah, and somehow still turned out just odd enough to want to be a quizmaster instead of a sister wife. No one knows who let that happen, but I'm sure they will be judged by the Lord.

Figure skating and football. One is a rigorous sport, testing the limits of the human body and demanding great skill and concentration. The other requires you do some of those things while running away from three hundred pound linebackers. Two very different sports that go together like unicorns and rainbows. Who knew?

We had some distinguished guests last night at Pitchers. The US figure skating team is in town for the 2012 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic. You can follow their athletic progress on twitter, @usfigureskating. However, last night was for geeks, and they proved they are a talented bunch.

Team USA came in first last night with a flourish (yeah, that happened), showing some serious knowledge of their Steven King flicks, and using their competitive instincts to use the Joker early on.  Team Guy Who Almost Hit Bella With His Truck came in a rousing second place, even with a perfect visual round, and is now Guys Who Almost Came in First. Sorry, guys, you're gonna have to work on that and get past almost. Next in Line, in third place, we had Juniors, who came to watch the football, and stayed to play the game. They took a couple of breaks to watch the Packers score some touch downs and still managed to make a strong showing. Go Pack, Go Pack lovers! (Please note that Geeks Who Drink in no way endorses any football team, but Juniors and this quizmaster know that if they could, it would be the Packers, we're absolutely sure of it.)

We'll see you next week at Pitchers, where we will convert some Panthers fans to the way of the quiz show, and see if we can't meet some ballroom dancers to teach us a few new tricks. Cheers!
