As a QuizMaster. I get a fun change up in my sleepy Sacramento days.  I get to know a bunch of new people in the area and learn all kinds of fun facts while at it!

There’s nothing to turn a crappy day around like relaxing in a pub with a beer and a game.  But first, you have to make it through the day and get to the pub.  Then with one of Chillers’ fantastic burgers and a cold one, the game flows smoothly.

Today was a somewhat interesting quiz, as we had a few teams of one person, and there wasn’t a lot of jockeying.  One team got the lead, and held it throughout, gradually eking out a wider margin over the course of the game.  Same with second place.

At the end of round three, two teams were tied for fourth, and two were tied for third.  That was a first.  Most teams scored within points of each other for rounds three and four.  The real divergence came in audio round two and in round eight.  Three of the teams jokered round eight which inflated the margins.

The fun moments came when suddenly I noticed someone had turned on vapid elevator music in the middle of the quiz, which instigated several ‘please continue to hold’ jokes.  I also had to get through eight pervy questions about sex terms and pornography with a straight face.  I was a bit curious as to how people knew some of those answers.  And finally, sorry I gave the stink eye to the smartass – it was totally unintentional.  Hopefully my having a beer with your afterwards persuaded you of that.
