Quiz Schedule

I enjoy long walks on the beach, bourbon and zombies.  

I have a BS in BS.  I can BS in at least 2 languages and I can convincingly imitate a few others.

I enjoy any occasion to dress up.  I will go disco, zombie or Mandalorian if you give me a reason. 

I am Caribbean Joe.  Born in Texas, I lived in the southwest pretty much all my life.  A desert dweller's life for me.  

So I picked up quizzing after my lovely fiancee and scorer, Island Amy, turned me on to the audition.  The rest is history.  Loving the quiz and the people it draws.  If I am not quizzing, you may find me out on 4th enjoying Tucson.

Construction be damned!  You can get past it all and make your way to The Hut.  It is a fine place full of music and merriment.  I know the weather scared you a bit last week, but it was a fine night out on the patio tonight.  While some did show, they would have enjoyed some additional competition. 

Now some enticements for you all, The Hut has a top notch staff.  I don’t mean they are simply good, they kick ass.  A highlight of the night was the harvesting of fresh mint from their very own herb garden which meant some exceptional mojitos.  You really should try one, they are breathtaking.  You couldn’t ask for a friendlier group either.  Not only are they friendly, but they are funny and fun.  Ready with a delicious drink and a nice bit of conversation.  So after quiz is done, you can hang out for even more good times.  Remember that quiz is but the tip of the iceberg and they also host all kinds of great bands, so when you win that gift certificate at quiz, you can come back and use it during one of their many fine shows.  If that isn’t enough to get you out, you can come and meet me.  Ok, scratch that last part.  I don’t know if you do want to meet me.

Tonight was an intimate evening with some great people.  We ended the night with a tie!  A first for our new friend, The Hut.  Of our teams, Huh? and 010001000110000101101101011011100110100101110100 (aka Damnit) tied it up.  We went in to a fierce round of sudden death.  Which they promptly tied again. So our tie breakers came in to play.  It came to a bit of Greek history to finish it off with Huh? taking the top spot and a $25 gift certificate to The Hut as his prize.  Damnit grabbed up the $15 gift certificate to soothe his tears.  Next week I would like to see you all on the patio (weather permitting) for a killer night of Geeks Who Drink.  So come on out and support local business and flip that construction the bird.

For some fun, come out and tell me who you think would be the best actor to portray Gordon Freeman in a live action Half-Life film. The most creative answer gets a drink on me.  So tell me just before the quiz and it shall be done.
