Joe (Caribbean Joe)

I enjoy long walks on the beach, bourbon and zombies.

I have a BS in BS.  I can BS in at least 2 languages and I can convincingly imitate a few others.

I enjoy any occasion to dress up.  I will go disco, zombie or Mandalorian if you give me a reason.

I am Caribbean Joe.  Born in Texas, I lived in the southwest pretty much all my life.  A desert dweller's life for me.

So I picked up quizzing after my lovely fiancee and scorer, Island Amy, turned me on to the audition.  The rest is history.  Loving the quiz and the people it draws.  If I am not quizzing, you may find me out on 4th enjoying Tucson.

You may also see us on our scooters as we are members of a local club called Sky Island Riders.

If you want to know more, stop by and quiz and meet me and I just might answer your questions. Hell I may even answer you truthfully.

Dear Mother Nature,
What was up tonight?  Rain, really?  I know Tucson is dry, hell, we pride ourselves on it.  Yes, we know it is a dry heat, but do you have to try and make us moist on tonight of all nights?  Well too bad, we had a great group of people flip you the bird and show up at The Hut anyways.  It was quiztastic.

I have frequented The Hut on many a night as they are big supporters of local music.  They always seem to have something cool happening.  I can’t tell you how excited we were to be opening there.  We were not left wanting.  So hopefully next week, the rains will stay away and we will be having some fun on the patio.   Might I suggest the Mai Tai, it is tasty.

Twas a fun first night quiz.  What did you see?

  • Bad Science in Movies.  Can you survive a tornado by strapping on a pipe?  Ha-ha, no, but you could do well in porn, just ask Hillary Swank.
  • It’s a Song and a TV Show.  Thanks to our one quizzer that picked up on my SNL reference.  We enjoyed all the songs, but once again, I must say, fuck U2.
  • American Idol, does anyone still watch that?  A couple of you did and named the bestselling artist from the show.  Seriously though, name a single song by Fantasia Barrino.  Try it, it is harder than remembering your own birth.
  • Business. It was all of your business.  Don’t feel bad that you did not catch that Wal-mart sold Old Roy dog food.  I wouldn’t feed my pets that either.
  • Hot Pole Handlers made everyone stand at attention.  Sure, everyone watches the Olympics without pants on.
  • Math, math, whose got the math?  Square it up.  Now I can apply a Punnett Square and find out why I am short and my hair is falling out like it’s on fire.
  • Quotable Movies.  They’re coming for you Barbara. We don’t need no stinking badges.  You’re killing me smalls.  I want my two dollars because you don’t fuck with the Jesus because I was born a poor black child.
  • Radom Knowledge was the icing on the cake for a couple of teams.  The brain power flwed and the Tanooki Suit sealed the deal and left our winners Moist.

After a fun night of Q and A, Destiny Hooker took the gold for a $25 Hut gift certificate.  2nd place was had by Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No wait, it’s the flying fuck I give to take home the $15 Hut gift certificate.  As we had no email bonus entries yet, we asked where The Hut’s famous Moai tiki head originally called home and Michaela got it to win an inflatable soccer ball.

Many thanks to all of you that braved the rain to join us on opening night.  Make sure to come back out for more fun at Geeks next Sunday.  May the odds be ever in your favor.
