First Geeks Who Drink ever at Hamburger Mary's! AND our first ever Geeks Who Drink in Los Angeles proper! And we kicked it off with a bang!

Before anything else, I want to thank you guys for being awesome. There's not enough awesome in this world, and you awesomed up some awesome awesome for me. I guess what I'm saying is: keep it up with the awesome.

We kicked it off with a “Wine, Women, and Song” themed quiz. Which is, I must say, ideal for the local hub of drag karaoke.

And, well, when it came to “Wine” in Round 1, you all rocked it. You know your wine!

Our Round 4 on Women slightly less so. And our Round 6 on Song, well...

Which is not to say that you don't know your songs! The audio R2, where you had to identify clips of songs about “Daddy Issues” and their performers was one of the highest average scores I've seen for a round of its type. So you're either experts in music or experts in father issues.

Well, I guess you could be both.

Our visual round on Natalie Portman cryin' it up was a challenge for you, though The Good Game Players aced the shit out of it.

There was another team that planned to kick that round's ass, but they took off before we got there. You snooze, you lose, they say. And I assume they left to snooze, because obviously only boring people leave quiz early.

SNOOZY people.

You non-snoozers made my life even more exciting by throwing down a TIE for third place, between teams T & A and Trivial Bears. And to make it a night to remember, I went with my very favorite kind of tiebreaker: a draw-off!

I gave the tied teams three minutes to draw me a rendition of “vengeance”. I don't know why I picked vengeance - maybe it was the Batman question I'd just asked in R8. REGARDLESS, you all came up with some stunning displays of drawn vengeance.

First, two teams who weren't even up for third decided to show off for me anyway. Here was team Mona's entry:

Second place went to Hamburger Gary's, who don't like having their picture taken. Witness protection? Soul stealing? Pathologically non-photogenic? The world may never know! Regardless, they took second place.

And our grand champions for the night? The Good Game Players! Even with a name that basically screamed “we don't think we're gonna win”, they manhandled that first place spot with a seven-point lead.
