Tuesday nights at Swagger (83rd and Wornall) from 7:30-9:30
|Tara (Ptera Dactyl)
Then the son, Kronos, from his ambush stretched forth his left hand and in his right took the great long sickle with jagged teeth, and swiftly lopped off his own father's members and cast them away to fall behind him...and a white foam spread around them from the immortal flesh...and came forth an awful and lovely goddess, and grass grew up about her beneath her shapely feet. Her gods and men call Ptera Dactyl
Last night was awesome awesome awesome and SO full. Saw a bunch of fresh faces too. It appears that we ate Mike's Tavern's quiz now that it is no longer. I couldn't be happier!
A few of you guys didn't know who R. Crumb is and I'm a little disappointed.
A lot of those UB40 cover songs I had never heard in any other way, so I was surprised to find out that they were covers. The quizzers, on the other hand, did pretty well on it.
Everyone unanimously did crazy well on round three, and thus the ones that jokered were in deed the winners of the whole game. Man, I cannot stress enough the importance of a well placed joker.
We all felt as a room that the Geek Quiz Question Overlords were really reaching with the bonus question for the "soft, hard, firm" round about sleep number. We decided that "beds being soft or firm" wasn't good enough reason.
The Man Inside Me and Penetrailia were my two favorite team names this week, but that is irrelevant because I didn't have fun team name prizes this time. I'M SORRY.
The Man Inside Me and We Are Adults took first and second place respectively. The other teams put up a hell of a fight, but these two were beasts. I hope they come around more.
Afterwards, we listened to hall and oates had a post-quiz twerking demonstration because Kara was trying to explain it to Laura for reasons I have no way of knowing. Not at the same time, though. That would be weeeeeeeeird.
Come see us next week, where I will demonstrate the proper technique to resole galoshes.
