Getting old is mandatory, but growing up is optional. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, nothing really changed.

I still play video games, I play with more expensive toys now a days, but I still play. Between delivering knowledge in the Pub Quiz or delivering jokes on the bar stage, the most important thing is to play.

Monday night descends once again on the quiet town of Knoxville. The setting sun draws out the most interesting of experiences. From the sight of hot pink poodles, to the smell of stir-fry noodles, downtown has more to offer than anyone one person could consume. But tonight is for those who consume knowledge and liquor. Tonight the Geeks have come to the Second Floor Speakeasy of Preservation Pub ready to battle.

Tonight saw the newest incarnation of penile vegetation,  Cocksalad 9: Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Cocks, will they ever run out of ideas? The trio of trickery Jello Biafra's Truffle Shuffle returned. The lovely ladies of Bulldogs took over the bar to play tonight. Out came the lonely hearts of The Abandoned Threesome. New kids on the block, Africanized Bea Arthur. The long awaited return of Team Deacon. A strong showing from the fearsome foursome Wishful Drinking. But, what is this? Returning from another long hiatus in an attempt to reclaim their dominance, Triviagra!

Before I go any further, I would like to bring great attention to something that has never happened to me before. Team Deacon, successfully answered a Bonus Beer Question tonight BEFORE I EVEN ASKED IT. I had less than three words out of my mouth and they were already at the stage with the correct answer. These are the moments that make my job amazing.

I was pleased to drill these eight lovely teams on some of my personal favorite topics, such as Magic: The Gathering, Junk Food, and Mass Murder. And they had just as much fun getting their brains wracked like a game of pool. So who was able to withstand the barrage of intellect and come out toe to toe with the masters? Why those new whippersnappers, Africanized Bea Arthur! With an early lead that could not be dominated.

How will next week pan out? Well I guess you'll just have to come out and see! Same Quiz time, same Quiz channel.

The beat of aging pop music coming from family friendly restaurants blends with the harmonica blues of panhandlers. The sun sets with a symphony of life behind it here at the Secondfloor Speakeasy of Preservation Pub in historic Market Square. The Geeks have arrived and it's time to drop knowledge like Aristotle, only ... you know, right. Tonight, twelve teams poured into the booths and chairs for the quiz and I was proud to deliver.

Battling tonight for the prize; the next installment of Cocksalad 8: Cock Harder, also making a showing were their bitter rivals Fuck Off, Cocksalad (Definitely some bad blood there). Representing my favorite team name of the night Devil Muffin. The return of the not-georgia-fans-dammit-it-was-our-high-school-mascot Bulldogs. The Mile High Club Solo Fliers returned, less dressed but still impressive. Jello Biafra's Truffle Shuffle, dancing over the competition. The long awaited return of Quiz In My Pants. The rather uncomfortable My Syphilus Itches. And the new comers; Luke's Severed Hand, who demand more Star Wars jokes. The team that goes all the way, Vols Deep. The latecomers Donkey. And the runner up for favorite team name, Tater Twats. Sex sells, ladies and gentlemen, Sex sells.

While few people understood Venn diagrams everyone listened carefully to Porn. Not many fans of the Kentucky Derby but plenty of Game of Thrones fans. This was a battle to be remembered and a goal to be topped. But let's not mince anymore words, the winners of the night Fuck Off, Cocksalad put their rivalry to rest as they conquered their adversaries in the Pub Quiz arena. Another record breaking night, another amazing group of quizzers. Will Fuck Off, Cocksalad let their rage subside? Will Cocksalad seek their revenge? How many more times can I type Cock in a blog? Summer appears to be in full swing here in Knoxville. And that means the knowledge has been turned up full blast. Tonight's Geeks Who Drink at The Secondfloor Speakeasy of The wonderful Preservation Pub in historic Market Square was host to nine teams seeking to do battle for free booze and the ability to crush all the other teams.

There were new faces and Old faces and weird faces and red faces and blue faces! So many faces! We had Discount Meat Mart coming back for more venison. The latest installment of Cocksalad 7: Order of the Cock. The newcomers to the arena, Bulldogs. Team Beef Su ... wait a minute, Jello Biafra's Truffle Shuffle has come on back to play. Also showing is The Dazzle of Zebras. The barber shop quartet of Scruffberries. The snazzily dressed Mile High Club Solo Flyers. The terrific trio of Wishful Drinking. Some guy named Jason had a birthday tonight so his team was called Jason's B-Day, not too arrogant I think.

The battle was fierce and dynamic, what with FOUR rounds being worth double the points. But when the smoke clears and the blood dries, there can be only one victor. And that, was Jello Biafra's Truffle Shuffle! Coming back from retirement with a new name, they took the night and the bar tab.

Another amazing night out here guys, I can't wait until we get to do it again. Same Pub Quiz time, same Pub Quiz channel.
