OK! Who else went home singing "Call me Maybe"......I hate getting Rick Rolled, but I am going to have to learn to roll with the punches being a Quizmaster! Pretty sure I will be humming shitty music for the rest of my tenure. We had a great night of quiz.
It is really exciting to see a lot of the same teams coming back and not only quiz it up, but we are getting some pretty fierce rivalries going! We even had a team whose friends brought friends (loud, drunk, princess friends) and regulated by yelling "shut the fuck up".....every 10 minutes or so...On a sidenote, we had a new team this evening and the gentleman thought one of the answers may have been wrong. I pointed him to the Errorogenous Zone. But just a hint for all my quizzlings out there, Alex Trebek does not know all of the answers either...he is just another sexy bitch with the answers in front of him!
Recap of the quiz:
Round 1 was 8 questions of sports traditions. It was cool to get the whole bar to join in for "Sweet Caroline" AND the Brandy Chastain reinactment was EPIC!!!!Too bad I did not have my camera ready. Just kidding, but my wife offered to demonstrate!
Round 2 was the audio round and the theme tonight was about being rich and famous for playing 3 chords. Johnny Cash can play one note on a broken uekelele and still be the best of all time! And who could forget Stripes and the Do Wah Diddy Diddy song?
Round 3 was a Say When round about super heroes. I tried to warn the kiddos about stopping too early, but you hear Smallville and can only remember one dude from there! One team did nail Captain America with only "1941" and "Marvel" so congrats to them!
Round 4 was Rangefinder History a la Presidents. Val & the Kilmers jumped many spots by nailing 7 of the 8 years for 2 points each!
Round 5 "It's Raining Meh" was our visual round that had way too much MOOB-AGE! Thank goodness they did not get the titty shot for Brando!!
Round 6 was on Shit Lit or the round I like to call "the round where the wheels fall off the bus". Never fails when I am out Geeking it up, the Lit round is where I fail....miserably! If you haven't seen "I hope they serve beer in hell", check it out...all i got to say is Midget Stripper!!!!
Round 7 was our other audio round where our teams had to fill in the blank. Answer of the night came in from team MPH's when they thought the Carrie Underwood song finished with "My truck broke down in the driveway"!Pretty sure they would have been right with about 85 other country songs, but not this one!
Round 8 Random knowledge gave us randomness as always. The answers ranged from "When Harry met Sally", thyroids and Chuancey Billups. It was pretty funny to watch the teams do the entire ASL alphabet.
When it was all said and done, we had repeat champs "Shooting Bottle Rockets at the Bosque" take it home with a 2 point victory. We missed some of our usuals this week, but next week, keep your eyes on "Val & the Kilmers"....I think we have some new contenders!!!
Thanks to Kent for helping me score. Thanks to my wife for taking pictures and embarrassing me with your team name!
Let's pack Dublins next week!!!!!! I hope to see all your pretty quizzling faces again next week!
