Last night at pub quiz:  Mayhem! Astonishment! A Panther fights a Bear! Ok, maybe not so much that last one. However, plenty of beers were had, plenty of questions were asked, and plenty of insults were tossed around casually.

More specifically, round one was eight degrees of what movie are we talking about again? (each answer was part of the next question). Round two was lite FM hits, you know, like Whitney Houston and Phil Collins and such. Round three was naming national parks that are also World Heritage sites. Round four was about Wii and weeds, round five was about spacecraft from fiction and real life (which somehow includes the guitar spaceship from Boston record covers…..which more importantly someone actually knew), round six was men with girly names, round seven was the theme songs from sci-fi movies (Close Encounters of the Third Kind was much creepier than I remember, Aliens was EXACTLY as creepy as I remember) , and finally, round eight was the same random shit as usual, this time with Batman, Canadian borders, Phillip Morris, space, The Campaign, and women’s health bars.

After all this, I had some pretty low scores and a lot of ties, but the video game nerds who were champs last week have been demoted to third place, previous champs Michael and Kenna won sudden death to be second place, and one of my more seasoned teams won what I believe to be their first championship! (I can tell if they’ve never won before when they say “What did we win?”)
