Quiz Schedule
Monday nights - 8pm at the Limelight in Sacramento 		Shenaya ()

As a QuizMaster. I get a fun change up in my sleepy Sacramento days.  I get to know a bunch of new people in the area and learn all kinds of fun facts while at it!

Sometimes I know, just reading through the questions which ones will elicit smart remarks from the crowd.  This evening, smart remarks were lost on me, we had eight rounds to get through, on a schedule!  We had only a few teams tonight.

Let me explain, at ten to eight there were precisely two members of one team on the premises.  And what with a long day at work and a sore throat, I was ambivalent about a forfeit.  Then, in a few minutes, the teams coalesced and took their usual places.  We welcomed a new team tonight, the 49er Fans who had a very respectable showing considering they joined after round 2.  

We eased into this evenings quiz with some basic questions for round one, our standard audio round two, and then I started changing things up.  I’d heard the softball team had a game tonight, and since they usually come back to Limelight after they play, I wanted to get the audio rounds out of the way. 

So we played rounds one, two, seven, then rounds four, six and five, ending with rounds three and eight.  This worked well as round three was a name all in category round.  Unfortunately, the timer was not in the quiz file I got, so we used one of the songs I usually play before the quiz and while scoring. 

We had a couple of ohhhhhhhs, as I read the answers, particularly for the Olympics questions.  Seems like everyone’s getting in the spirit of the Summer Games!

With only one round left to score, the first and second place teams were tied, as they had been at the end of round five.  I was glad we didn’t go into overtime, and had a change up in the winning streak.
