Don't tell Jon. Well, I guess maybe you can because I think he's crushing too. On the couple to the table on our left. After the quiz they pulled us aside and asked how they can be more like us, and if there's anything good for the ego, it's having someone say, "I want to do what you just did." So we have recruited another two into the Geeks Who Drink fold! And then, guess what, I got too excited and broke a glass.

Epic night ruined.

RUINED.

Not really.

Anyway--I had a blast hanging out with you all last night! We had some fun volume times--mostly because I couldn't hear myself and I just really like to turn "Twist and Shout" up to 11. Don't judge me.

Round 1 last night was By the By and I am proud to report out to the general populace that Gourmand's got Q1 on this round completely right. The entire bar. Everyone hates South by Southwest. Oh, and remember when that guy yelled out an answer and I called him an asshole? I also got kudos outside for saying "bag of dicks" in the rules. That's just how I roll. Also, there was a question about what FUBU stands for (if you believe the stereotype) and someone wrote... "Fuck Us Be..." and did not finish that phrase. What were you going to say quizzers? Also another fun answer was "Fashion by Asian Dudes," which I also think might be racist, but I'm not sure.

Round 2 was awful. I mean, really really hard for a 10 year band nerd to listen to. It gave me much more appreciation for my parents having to sit through my middle school concerts. And on top of that, it was oldies songs. You guys performed admirably though! We had a high score of 12 (before jokering) on that round.

Round 3 was a say when round on Game Shows, and you all learned a valuable lesson: Richard Dawson hosted more than one game show in his time. Silly kids.

Round 4 was about Dystopian literature (and movies). You all know your shit! Also, there was a question about what the name of the ripped-off Japanese novel that Hunger Games was built off of and a team put Thirst Games. Loved it.

Round 5 had you naming flowers. Yep.

Round 6 you had all the answers ending in "ism." Green Lanternism isn't a thing, unfortunately, but I do appreciate the effort!

At this point a quizzer came up to me and whispered "Dingo" in my ear all sexy-like. That was the answer to the facebook bonus, and I gave that guy a prize! You should like our facebook if you too want to know the facebook bonus question!

Round 7... Oh Round 7. Some of you laughed, some of you got irritated. Even when you knew that Sax man was coming, you responded as though you were shocked Every Single Time. It was awesome to watch. Oh, and I'm the K-*EPIC SAX SOLO*. Don't pretend like a little sax wouldn't have livened up Titanic.

Round 8 was random, as always. We powered through.

In the end, it turned out the saving your joker can prove very wise--as You Bacon Me Crazy was overtaken from behind (that's what she said) by Pollos Hermanos!

Awesome work you guys--thank you for being such an amazing group to quiz with. Patrick will be back in the saddle next week!
