Quiz Schedule
Thursdays, 8:00PM. Christian's Tailgate Heights on White Oak
Jamey (Jamey (*))

A co-worker invited me to play an inferior trivia game at a bar a few years back.   We formed a team.  We were pretty good, but the location/game sucked.  We found salvation in Geeks Who Drink.  We haunted the Rice Village Woodrows for a year or so, then moved to Cedar Creek in the Heights because it was closer to our homes.  I heard the clarion call for new quizmasters, tried out, and the suckers gave me a bar.

I love pub quiz.  I love beer.  I love the burgers at Christian's.  It was kismet.

When I'm not an obnoxious quiz player or awesome host, I have a 100 pound dog whose breed hunted lions, try to keep my lawn from embarassing me, and cook cool, funky, exotic food (Korean and Ethiopean are favorites.)

What a difference a day makes!  We made the switch from Thursday to Tuesday, and I lost 3/4 of my teams.  What we lacked in numbers, we made up with in FUN!  I had some great teams tonight.  Astros sorta stumbled into the game.  Thanks for sticking around and playing.  Y'all were a hoot! Gintelligence took its sweet time turning in rounds, but there was a reason for their contemplation…duh, winning.  99 Problems got most of the bonus questions.  Damn, that Jason is fast. Bangers had a great time. Bastard Children had a great name and kicked some serious ass.  Also, congrats to Bryan for knowing that Oscar de la Hoya is one of the owners of the Dynamos.  That got him two tickets to Saturday's game courtesy of Christian's Tailgate and GWD.

R1 Recently in Stuff - All perfect scores, except one, but they were learning the game.

R2 Not Quite Sunday School.  By far the easiest audio round in  loooong time…but I went to Sunday School religiously.  Congrats Gintelligence who jokered a perfect round.

R3 was sort of morbid.  Y'all did a good job of figuring out if the dead celebs had made it to age 40 or not.  To make things interesting, I gave an extra point if the team could name the age of the celeb at his/her death.  Bastards guessed Freddy Mercury died at 45, and 99 Probs knew that Tim McVeigh got his final injection at age 33.

R4 was all about Spain.  Here's a link the Guggenheim in Bilbao on this blog so you can now kick yourself.  http://www.guggenheim.org/bilbao  And I think Penelope Cruz is the sexiest woman from Europe since Sophia Loren.

R5 I was impressed just about everyone got Treasure Planet, but sad so many missed Tomb Raider, staring the sexiest woman born in America.

R6 was all about replacements, and I got to play Bastards of the Young.  Only one team got Copernicus, but that's not really a very Polish name, is it now?  Nobody got Mick Taylor of the Stones.

R7 was some horrible music moments from movies.  I still love the Tiny Dancer bit from Almost Famous…and so did you.

R8 Random Knowledge was a usual bunch of unusual stuff from Monsters Inc to Burger King Smoothies to HSL to extraterrestrial alcohol.

And with that, I'm gonna finish up and go enjoy a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster.

See y'all next Tuesday!
