Wow, what a great quiz last night. We the biggest domination of a round I've ever seen.  9 of the 11 teams scored a perfect 8 in the visual round. It was a night where the top three teams distanced themselves from the pack early and fought right down to the very last question to decide the winner.  Last night was also the first night that we've ever had a tie for one of the top two places at The Stone Church.  Comic Sans Seraphim and Dragon Commander(who I might add was comprised of only two guys!!!) ended round 8 tied at 61 and only two points behind our winning team The Fighting Mongooses(never underestimate the scrappyness of a mongoose in a close fight).  Ultimately it was the Dragon Commander who prevailed to claim their place on the podium.  

As many of you know the last 6 months of quizzes at The Stone Church were dominated by two teams: The UNH MFA students(whose name changed weekly) and The Mad Bubblers(former team of current quizmaster god Christian).  With The Bubbs eaking out several victories but typically finishing second to the MFA kids(seriously, they finished behind them in second 4 weeks in a row once).  The landscape of the quiz arena has changed dramitically.  The Bubblers are without a key member and with school starting(team made up mostly of teachers) are demonstrating less of a prescence.  And the MFA team has moved on to bigger and better things with last week being their last hurrah.  So that leaves a gaping whole at the top of the mountain.  Who will step up and dominate Quiz night at the Church.  Dragon Commander is certainly a contender, being one of the only teams left with multiple victories under their belt.  Have the Fighting Mongooses made a statement this week that they're the team to beat?  Will another team climb the super steep cliff of quiz and battle the lava monster at the top to claim victory?  Will the Bubbs or MFA team come out of retirement ala George Forman to reclaim their throne?  Only time will tell.  Tune in next Wednesday at The Stone Church to find out how the next chapter in this thrilling saga unfolds.
