Good morning everyone. Sorry about the random thread title but Wrath of Khan happens to be on and that scene played right as I opened my laptop to do the blog. Well I guess it's not completely random since the new Star Trek movie opened last night. Annnnd maybe even less random since our 2nd place team's name was Cumberbitches Be Crazy. Since the movie opened at midnight last night I guess that mystery has probably been solved but I haven't read any spoilers yet so I have no idea if the rumor was true or not. As I'm watching this, have any of you ever noticed how much Khan's number 2 looks like Cilian Murphy? Seriously, it's creeping me out. Also I gotta say, I think Wrath of Khan is better than any of the Star Wars movies. Star Wars is the better universe and story but Khan is the best overall story. Not at all a trekie but you gotta give credit where credit is due. Ok onto the quiz.

So we had another nice turnout which was nice. 14 teams in total. Granted 3 of those teams left over the course of the game but I'll take it. Hoping you guys tell all your friends and we can keep up the good numbers up through the summer after school gets out. Pretty competative game last night but we still had another wire to wire winner. My Chemical Butt Romance started the game off with a perfect round 1 score, 28 points in round 2, and then held off some late charges with 11 points in the final round. We won't talk about their 3 point effort in round 3. Oops. Hot on their tail for the whole game was Cumberbitches Be Crazy. They put up some nice scores but where never able to make up ground on the initial lead that Butt Romance had after the first two rounds. Rounding out the top three were two teams that made some poor decisions and finished 1 point back of second place. Condoms & Rattlesnakes: 2 Things I Don't Fuck With and Billie Jeans Lovers played a good game and finished with an overall score of 70 which is pretty damn good. But both teams made big mistakes with their jokers that cost them in the end. Condoms & Rattlesnakes jokered a 9 point 8th round instead of their 13 point 2nd round and Billie Jean jokered an 11 point 8th round instead of a 12 point 2nd round. Had either one trusted in their musical skills they would have easily finished in 2nd place. Oh well. Live and Learn.

Good evening quizzers. I'm coming to you live from my living room watching the Toy Hunter and eating Little Debbie Streusel cakes. Easily my favoite snack cake at the moment. It used to be Tasty Cakes coffee cake but I'm pretty sure they dont make those anymore. Can't find em anywhere and they don't even list them on their website. Odd. Close second would have to be Honey Buns. Just the regular ones though, not the frosted Honey Buns. Those have too much condensed frosting, throws off the whole balance. Can you tell I really have nothing to talk about tonight. So lets just move onto the quiz :-)

Another tough quiz this week. Another one of these and I actually might start feeling bad for you guys. Our winning team had only 65 points. I can't remember the last time the winning team had less than 70 points. Which is curious because it used to be that if you scored 70 points then odds are you won the game. I don't know if the quizzes have gotten a it easier over the last 6 months or if you guys have put together some pretty balanced and impressive teams. Either way, it's nice to see a pitchers duel once in awhile.

Along with the regular drama of the quiz there were a few subplots going on last night. Powerhouse team So Hard split in two this week. Which half would prove to be the stronger? How would Number One, Irregardless, another weekly powerhouse do with missing two of their members? Would anyone get the joke Tightass Androgynous? Would the entire quiz be able to survice the abcense of Dan Tran? Does anyone actually care about any of these questions? For all these answers and more, be sure to tune in next week.

So as far as the actual quiz goes we had a nice wire to wire winner in the Double Fisters. I'm gonna assume they were referring to drinking alchohol since the other thing doesn't seem possible. You're welcome. In a lower scoring game such as the one we had it was even more impressive that they jokered so early and were able to hold off 20 and 24 point late charges from Number One, Irregardless and Chris Brown Punched Rhianna SO HARD She Forgot Her Name. We had yet another 2nd place tie between JFKFC and Number One which was settled by a dance off instead of a chugging contest this week. It proved to be the correct decision as the two combatants put on a hell of a show. But in the end their could be only one. When the dust settled JFKFC was left standing. He had an odd strategy of dancing however the hell he felt like it regardless of the music but it paid off in the end. All in all I thought it was a really fun night and a successful quiz. Nice to see the number of teams climb back into the teens after a few down weeks. Hope we can keep up the momentum next week. That's it for me guys. See you next week. Good afternoon my little quizzers. Sorry for the late blog, I completely spaced. For good reason though, I've been running around all morning putting together plans for the reopening of The Stone Church's Patio. I'm not sure how the logistics would work but once it gets nice out I'm thinking maybe having the quiz outside once in awhile? I dunno what do you guys think?

Last night's quiz was a pretty fun one. No real drama to speak of since our winning team went wire to wire and the second place team outscored everyone else by a pretty large margain but it was still pretty fun. I did kinda feel like I was back in Middle School though with all the talk of old video game systems and butt sex. I wasn't having butt sex but for some reason we talked about it a lot back then. I remember once in high school a girl telling us that it just felt like you had to poop but couldn't. I think she was was mistaken. And I think I've now shared a little too much...ummm sorry about that.

So ArmaGetItOn had a pretty dominating performance last night. They were able to secure the top spot with a 30 point second round and taking advantage of the early double points to get 12 more in round 2. That's more than half their points in only two rounds!!! ZOINKS!!!! They were almost undone by a pretty crappy score of 8 in round 8 though. That's because I Know Why The Nicholas Caged Bird Sings, I do too it was the BEES, was right on their heels the whole time. They tossed up 28 in round 2 and also were able to take advantage of the double points in round 2 to score 12 points. Their valient effort in round 8, 10 points, left them just one point shy at 80 overall. Btw since you guys keep scoring 80 points I've given up on caring about it. I will now only care if you guys score 90+ points. Cannibal the Musical at Jamestown and Ball So Hard also turned in solild performances as usual and it left them in a tie for 3rd with 73 points.

All in all I thought it was a nice well rounded evening of quizzing. Well done. After a couple slower weeks with 8 and 11 teams lets try and talk up the quiz and get us back into the 14-16 range for next week. Until then, I hope you guys have as much fun playing as I do hosting.
