Being the bastard son of Soupy Sales had few advantages for a young Steve growing up.  The fact that Soupy never acknowledged Steve's existence weighed heavily on his mind through his formative years.  Sure, there was the occasional delivery of whip cream pies anonymously received during the holidays, but that did little to quell Steve's need for purpose and acceptance.

Train hopping in the mid-80s led Steve to the glory hole of Central Texas known as Waco.  Here he found kindred spirits in fellow outcasts Xylem Hemp and Ma Devo.  Together they formed a tight alliance that ruled the back alleyway RPG scene in Central Texas.  Legend has it that there are still some 12 sided dice floating around the Waco area that once belonged to this legendary triumvirate.

Steve remains in the Waco area and is very quickly becoming a local legend in all things related to music, beer and comic books which are quite possibly the most awesome set of hobbies anyone can have.  Once you have the chance to be in his presence, you will undoubtedly feel blessed.......and moist.

The return of the second night of GWD to Truelove Waco was a success even if the attendance was hurt a bit by it being Labor Day Weekend.  That fucking Jerry Lewis and his kids are always getting in the way and ruining everybody's fun. Does anyone even watch that anymore?  Actually, this QM isn't even sure there was a telethon this year.  Is Jerry Lewis still alive?  Why do the French love him so much? These are the things I think about on Labor Day weekend, but I digress.

Here are the Nuggets of Knowledge extracted from the mind cavities at Truelove on Sunday night:

- Cylons were also called "Ass Rapers" on Battlestar Galatica

- The yellow eyed android from Star Trek: Next Generation was named Bender

- Huey Lewis is NEVER a right answer

- Conway Twitty is ALWAYS a right answer

- The Soggy Bottom Boys is also the name of a very popular gay porn film

- Mel Blanc played the Joker on Broadway

- Snozberries taste like ass

- The main product of Snyder's of Hanover? very fine baby hair

- Again, we say....Nobody ever played the Settlers of Catan!!

- The abortion pill is OU812

- Mandy Moore and Macaulay Culkin never really stopped doing blow

- The Ladies Man is a great, great movie

So, we only ended up with three teams on Sunday, but the competition was fierce and a good time was had by all.  Everyone bitched about the Mashup Audio round during round 2.  Most of the complaints had to do with having to hear even just a little bit of "Sweet Home Alabama".  Conversely, all three teams aced Round 7.  We do love our SNL movies!

In the end, team One Horned Pornicorn pulled out a one point victory over team Two Guys, One Pizza, Let's Get Cheesy.  Team Redundancy Team finished in third place, but clearly had the most fun all night, especially the one dude on the team with all the chicks.  Well played, sir, well played.
