We had another fun night at Hamilton Inn last night, devoid of tech problems all together! We had some regulars, part-time regulars, and relative new comers as well, and the mix proved potent, frothy, and good enough to come back for seconds.
Holmeyedeek, Tennis Approach, and ATM all held the bottom of the list, with Jersey Girls battling Let's Go Rangers! all night for the fourth place spot. In the end, though, Let's Go Rangers! came out to just place in the top half of the ranks, much to the chagrin of the rest of the New Jersey bar.
Patrica O'Donnell, Please Pick Up Your Packages sent a pretty passive-aggressive message to their forgetful neighbor with their team name, who was unfortunately not there to see them place third. Mail Order Grooms fell short of first place, leave Thirsty As Hell to take the night and the $20 gift card to the bar! The Grooms dashed off to their brides as soon as they lost though, leaving a sad, empty table to fill in for their dark, grainy picture.
It was a great night, and can't wait to do it again next Tuesday at 9!

We were back at the Hamilton Inn last night for a more relaxed, less frantic, and much earlier night of quizzing than last week. I don't know about you guys, but at the very least, I had much less blind-panic-induced sweating and much more calm beer drinking. The questions came easier, the equipment didn't >SCREEEEEEE< ...oh right. Well, wouldn't be a Sean Curry quiz if something didn't go hilariously wrong and make me look like a jerk.
We had another exciting night full of repeat quizzers mixing it up with some upstart newcomers! Frank Dutti, Los Doctores, and JK held the bottom of the board with firece tenacity, all battling to keep themselves out of the last place spot. The Ethnics succeeded in digging themselves out of the bottom to fight for fourth place, but QWYZIWYG kept them down as they were just inched out of the top three.
Our big top three last night were hotly contested! The ranks switched and moved with every round, and in the end, all three scored within five points of each other. It was truly anyone's game. The Dave Coulier Fan Club took the same place as their namesake did in the "Favorite Grown Men Of The Tanner Family" contest, and The Adjacent Jasons & The HERP lost first place to Gavel Gavel Gavel (Please Make A Turkey Sound When You Read This) in the final round! It was an exciting match up for sure, but Gavel Gavel Gavel (Please Make A Turkey Sound When You Read This) protected their top spot for a second week in a row.
I'll say this: I love their team name. So much so, in fact, that, if they take first place for a third time in a row next week, I will actually make a turkey sound on the mic every time I mention their name the week after. Quizmaster's Honor.
See y'all next week!

Last night, though a bumpy beginning, was still a hugely-attended quiz and one of the most fun quizzes I've ever mastered. Minds were stumped, drinks were dranked, and computers were malfunctioned, giving the Quizmaster a friggin' heart attack. But we pressed on valiantly, and on the other side we had some winners and some fantastic team names.
We'll dive into our Top Three, but first, our plucky bottom-dwellers. Last place, unfortunately, was filled by Probably Not Last Place, followed by Isaac and Young Back Orchestra 29. My Couch Pulls Out But I Don't, Billy In 4C, and Boyz Noyz filled out the middle of the list along with the tentatively-named Idiots: A Working Title, Sloppy Taco (with an ever-changing roster of sides), and Foreigner (Not The Band).
Drawing their inspiration from last night's tasteful Round Five, the fourth place Kate Winslet's Slippery Tits nearly made it into the top three, but were sadly distracted by Kate Winslet's slippery... acting credentials. The unpronounceable QWYZIWYG filled the base of our top three, leaving it to Moon Over Parma to almost, but not quite, take first place from the instructionally-named Gavel Gavel Gavel (Please Make A Turkey Sound When Reading)!
Congrats to [the sound a turkey makes] on their win! And to Moon Over Parma and QWYZIWYG on their impressive ranking. I'll be back next week at the Hamilton Inn with more technical difficulties and terrible jokes about your names!
Till then,
Sean
