A lifetime’s experience with socially awkward geekiness has led inevitably to Geeks Who Drink.  The Groveland Tap is my first gig, which is a return home.  Drinkers in my family have been imbibing there since it was The King & I, and my kids played their first game of pool at BB Dixon’s.

A cubicle slave by day, by night I hang out with amusing drunks either for Geeks Who Drink or driving the PedalPub, a non-motorized party bus.  I also bike, homebrew, play scrabble, read everything, and volunteer for Surly Brewing’s SGAD volunteer corps.  I have two kids (that I know of), a spouse, an elderly cat, and an antisocial cockatiel named Füd.

I quit smoking recently, so if you see me with one, SLAP IT OUT OF MY CHEATING HAND.  And then buy me a shot because I probably need one.  Or give me a hug.  Hugs are nice.  But I’d rather have the shot.

An entire round on Google Easter eggs?  Yes, please! Have you Googled “Z or R Twice”?  Oh!  And search for “Binary”.  Okay, one more.  Go to the Google search page and click the “I’m Feeling Lucky” box without putting anything in the search bar and kiss your productivity goodbye.

 

If geeks aren’t allowed to dance, can someone explain how the Dougie and Gangnam Style happened?  Because if that ain’t geeky, I don’t know what geeky is.

A before and after round in honor of Banned Books week! I love these wordplay rounds. Grads Who Drink came up with another one which was great, even if it was wrong:  Living Color Purple.
