I fucked up. I forgot to blog before 130pm. I had a stupid schedule at the school I teach at (we had a block day, so my first period was at 8am as usual, but second wasn't until after 1230pm! Which is not usual...) I will lose money for this. Grumble. Damn kids... I also had a meeting in Sacramento from 230-6pm but it ended two hours early so I am currently sitting in Alley Katz.
Last night's quiz was quite bustling: we had ten teams and each team, aside from one guy, had more then four people on it, so it was a full house. I love how the bar fills up just in time for the quiz. If you walk into G Street Wunderbar at 8:30pm, it is about as dead as any other random mid-week day in a dive bar. But around 8:50pm, the teams come rolling in. Pitchers are sloshed across tables, pint glasses are clinking, merry banter and fine how-do-you-do's ensue, and before you know it, it's a proper pub quiz!
I made the mistake of eating random shit last night. Whilst reading R1's Anagram clues, I chomped down on buffalo wings, which were divine. Before that I had had Thai left-overs. Already, a troubloing combo. But then my friend Damon ordered bacon wrapped jalepeno poppers. Slap my ass and call me Susie, those we some tasty morsels of melting hot cheese. Then when I got home I thought cream puffs would be a nice midnight snack. Ugh. The more you knooooow!
We had some shit talking n00bz in the crowd, but they were with some regulars so I gave their mugs a sneer and turned the other cheek. Something about someone questioning me on my quiz-mastering awesomeness that rubs me the wrong way. GTFO, or try to get the job yourself. IN the mean time, STFU and drink your warm PBR.
As you may notice from my title, the R7 on sign-offs and resignations was my favorite because it had Conan's heartfelt clip of sweetness when he was bidding adieu to NBC. I have been Team Coco since 2000. Party on, Coco.
I'm trying to remember if anything spectacular happened last night. There were two groups of people celebrating a 21st birthday, so that's cool for them but they really should have just gone in the pool room because they were noisy as hell.
Hmm. Well That is all I have for now. Sorry to end abruptly. I am hungry!

Allergeeeez!
The room was alive with sniffles as the rain did nothing to kill the plant sperm that is raping our faces here in Davis. My nose is running like a faucet, my nostrils are chapped from blowing and wiping, and my eyes and throat itch from the irritation. Hooray for Spring :(
The stupid allergens didn't keep our regular away, though, so ON WITH THE QUIZ!
The rounds tonight varied: opera, sports, interrupting cows, you name it and it may have been on this quiz or one in the future or past o.O
The interrupting cow was a nice effort but we still think the raptors owned and would love to have them again. The cow interruption took a minute for people to figure out - was it interrupting an actual animal or the mention of an animal? It got figured out but was still pretty tricky.
While on stage I was given the scoop on the drama from the weekend: what's up with bomber in Boston? Geez louise. Tonight's 2nd place team will leave no person safe, however, and paid a bit of homage to the murders in Boston with the name, "That's why we don't run." Too soon? YOU BE THE JUDGE!!
The winning team tonight had an impressive 92 points. I suck at math so let me try to figure out the best possible score over all... 64 if you never joker, 80 if you joker a double point round...? shit I'm already confused. Anyway 92 is one of the highest I've seen so well done guys and gals!
I am off to suffer alone in my fur-covered bed because, even though I have allergies, I also have cats. Who I am not exactly allergic to, anymore, but... ya know. They probably don't help the situation. Nye nye :) zzzz

Go figure I forget to Publish Post while waiting for my pics to resize... grumble.
Anyway, yesterday's quiz!
R1 was a good hook-round, in that some people heard the questions, it piqued their interest, they joined the game, ...and consequently lost, but the fact is that they tried! Tough luck, Han Solo. It's hard to 'teach them college kids' when ya only succeed in one round >:)
R2 was good in theory, but these brains kept putting the title as it would be if done with grammatical correctness. It was a round called BAD ENGLISH. They missed the point, but not literally. Grammatical correctness never loses points in this student teachers' grade book!
R3 was one of those lengthy ones. Boy, they take so long I hardly want to write about it--------
R4 had a charming name. I really love crudely titled rounds, so I repeated the title over and over. HOT CARLS HERE, GIT YER HOT CARLS!
R5 Q2 was only guessed by one team of n00bs, the Bros and a Ho. But that was all they really excelled at, as one can see by their final score.
R6 was awesome. Well, the idea behind the theme - Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. History questions always throw me off but, man, some teams were busting out knowledge on Billy the Kid and Napoleon like it was nobody's business. Be excellent to each other, my friends!
R7 had some inside jokes I didn't get, but I played it off like I wrote the shit. They'll never suspect a thing...
Last but not least, R8. The reason the Weirdos were able to win. Strategic Jokering pays off. While some people were doubling 8 point rounds, these fools were lying dormant, like a mighty metal volcano of quizlike authority. Finally, they won first place! See ya next week kids.
DONT FORGET THE MOBSTER QUIZ IS APRIL 13TH AT 6PM AT ALLEY KATZ IN SAC AHHH
