Which is to say that I have spent most of this summer pool-hopping and poaching, not wearing enough sunblock, and drinking too much. I think water is pretty great and everything, I just prefer it when that shiz is frozen.
Our Wednesday's Finest was all rockin' like Dokken last night, with a grip of squads and some business about Fabio going on. I was able to procure an automobile (thank you, ScoreWeaponX!) and in so doing, managed to avoid the steady fall of rain that gently devestated everything from the village, to the heights.
Sundries were passed around like so many shafts of light, and our quizness was for joy. Until next week, when I expect to be fully recovered from this weekend's scooter rally (maybe) and well-fit for the future. Cheers!

After some 100 uneventful miles in search of a way into Grants without the slings and arrows of Interstate 40, I dove straight into a turin cloud of monsoon madness on my way into the village this evening. You'd think if the rainmakers really wanted to lay me to waste, they could've done it in the middle of nowhere (which is very much anywhere you like along NM-6) - but no. It had to be a few miles from my house. The torrential downpour lifted some miles from Corrales, which had everyone bewildered as to why I was dripping with precipitation. I now know that the dragon handles exceptionally well in the rain, and as good as that is for my memory bank - I'd still spring for a dry pair of clothes instead.
Tonight was a little on the slow side, which was weird after several weeks of bumpin' quiz ballyhoo. ScoreWeaponX was also missed, as she was oogly Vespas on the set of some cool movie. I'll get her back later, you'll see. Actually, you probably won't.
Regardless, our quizzing swelled - and we soldiered on through our Wednesday's Finest. Delicious meats and cakes included (and smoothies, now? Yesss), tonight came out mighty fine, even culminating in a 3-way tie for 1st Place. A brief sudden death later (which still isn't going to get anyone to watch "The Adventures of Pluto Nash") - and our shiz was realized. The reigning team of terror chez Oasis was only sort of taken down a peg (they of F-Bombs, or something), the ladies of Ending Summers were just barely thwarted, and the ever-fearsome Clubhouse rose like a beacon of hope for other squads to admire.
So anyway, I'll be dancing with the moonlight knight once again - next week - where it'd better not freaking rain on me again. I mean it this time.

... Because we quiz in a village, and you most certainly are people. See what I did just there? I took a thing and made it worse!
So last night was pretty boss. We cruised through our Wednesday's Finest like a bunch of seasoned professionals, encountering rounds with the tenacity of 80's video game characters, and then vanquishing them with short, stabby things. At the conclusion of the night, our enemies (quiz rounds) exploded (kablooey) like imploding stars (just like in Zelda), and we advanced to the next level (next level coming next week).
So bring it back, my glorious Village People, for various sundry things (french fries dipped in awesome!) I've got a hat made of meat, and I'm totally gonna wear it. Meat hat! Thanks for being perennially awesome, and keeping it busy chez The Oasis.
