Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals still couldn’t deter seven teams of Geeks from assembling at Tommy Doyle’s for another Geeks Who Drink pub quiz. And what a quiz it was. We had singers from Indiana. We had religion. We had questions about lagers and loggers. We even had an obligatory Canada question which was surprisingly not met with boos from the crowd.

This week it was It Makes Me Sad When People Say Taters that finished in first place while Taters Taters Taters finished behind them (I’m secretly hoping that if I refer to them as Taters x3, Weird Al Yankovic will do a parody on the Chris Brown song). Kids’ Table came back this week and got there early enough to nab a grown-up table this time, while Hugh G. Rection, Emperor Tomato Ketchup, Speaking of Religion, Can we Have All your Money?, and Shackleford was Rusty rounded out the standings.

Makes Me Sad led throughout most of the quiz while Taters x3 saved their joker for a strong performance in round 8 to leapfrog into second. Kids’ Table won Nicole’s choice for best team name, and the Avery Ellie’s Brown Ale won my choice for top beer. Nicole was making Black and Golds in honor of the Bruins. It had the 312 on the bottom with Guinness on the top.

Go Bruins!
