Jeannette had to go be a vagina elsewhere last night (no, seriously), so I was the lucky QM that filled in for some quiz awesomeness. I'm not even being sarcastic. Aqua Lounge is super rad. 

We had lots of newbies last night, which I personally love. New people are WAY more relaxed and enthusiastic about quiz than a lot of the regulars. I mean, I'm just saying. 

When we first got going we were worried about only having one or two teams, but finished with FIVE teams in contention. Team Oz managed to pull ahead early with a strategic joker, but it really was anyone's quiz. I think if Quiz Starts Before 8:00pm had jumped in before Round 4 ... well, Team Oz would have really had some serious competition. 

For those of you who didn't come last night (tsk tsk), you missed an entire round on the length of Ron Jeremy's penis. There were actually less jokes during that round than I anticipated. DISAPPOINTING. I just kept sipping my Dirty Shirley, waiting for the extreme inappropriateness to begin. Alas. 

So come back next week and keep the ever-lovely Jeannette company (seriously, she's awesome - ask her about being a vagina). You bitches are fabulous. I hope we get to hang out again soon!

Oh my goodness, floaties hanging from the ceiling, darts in the corner, and some sexy boy behind the bar: Aqua is my kind of place to quiz! Not to mention AMAZING team names: Quiz Team Aquilera and Shark Taint!  

Also, the very NOT STRAIGHT GUY, Bret, joined in for the end because he could tell we were just having way too much fun and he wanted to get in on it. Any he was right! 

When no one answered the bonus beer questions correctly, I instituted the Bear, Gun, Lady game of Ro-Sham-Bo, courtesy of Mike Rucki, and that was super fun! I learned very quickly that this crew was more the knows-about-primetime-tv crew and not the knows-their-down-South-history/geography crew.

Shrimp and Marshmallows joined up in the second half of the party, and that made things more fun! I treated myself (of Michael the bartender treated me) to some Maker's and Coke, not a bad thing to sip on when rubbin elbows with the fine gentemen of East Colfax. I highly recommend you get your booties to Aqua next week, the fun is just going to keep gettin better!

But really, who knew Aqua Lounge was a cute little gay bar on east colfax who has a manager that will ORDER YOU FOOD FROM THE CAFE NEXT DOOR WHILE YOU HOST QUIZ!? Not this guy...I had not a clue, my friends.

A great little group last night. And by 'great group' I mean a bunch of racist white people. I keep running in to crowds that think every.single.rap.song. is performed by none other than Tupac himself. I can see it now..."OH ITS A RAP SONG. I KNOW THIS ONE"..."oh yea? Go on.." ...."TUPAC. ABSOLUTELY"

Never failed last night. Gays in 1st, Gays in 2nd, Lezzies in 3rd...and the solo straight guy came in from behind at 4th.
