Folks around these parts know me by a lot of names. Having grown up in Seattle I went by Cookie during my time playing baseball. Also had the nickname Nature Boy at summer camp, and in high school Spanish class I was Diablo. Along with my many names come many talents. I was the state pickleball champion two years in a row (2005-2006) and have a pretty mean drinking arm when it comes to bar games. Try your luck and challenge me to some pool if you feel lucky. Am a passionate world traveler with plenty of plans to keep moving along in the future. Currently enjoying life and laying it all on the line Monday night at the Blue Star Cafe & Pub.

 

 

 

 

It was a wild and crazy night at the Blue Star Cafe & Pub. We saw a lot of new teams make their first apperance in what will hopefully be the begining of a whole new group of regulars. This batch of new recruits mostly came from University of Washington and have plenty of energy to keep the party going long into the night. Geeks Who Drink Pub Quiz At Blue Star Cafe Pub

Greeted with some puzzling visual round questions this week allowed your friendly quizmaster to laugh at all the confused faces around the room. Thankfully a few of you started to pick up steam and even walk away from round five with all 8 right. Consider me impressed since by my self I was only able to get 6. Only two teams got over ten points without adding jokers during the first round which surprised me since normally music is a strong point for a lot of teams. Must not have enjoyed the first few decades of hip-hop I guess. Was happy to see most teams knew what their cartoons were flashing or hiding with the round 8 question.

Beyond the ramboncious newbies we saw a great condingency of classic regulars come to do battle with the Quizmasters questions. Tonight saw a lot of changes in the standings with Maganda taking a commanding lead all the way to round 7. Sadly, haveing used their joker in the second round and a poor showing in the girly questions (they didn't have a single lady friend with them that night and it cost them.) they were leaped over by the top three teams and ended in fourth place. First place was stolen by a monumental thirty point round 8 brought to you by Super Balls Deep.

Like the rest of the teams the second and third place teams were all smarter than tenth graders with the average score for that round being just over 6 points. Both second place Bob Loblaw Law Blog and third place Trans Matrix Sisterhood got themselves 8's for that round which were two of the three in total for that round. A great showing by them and a hearty congratulation to everyone on their team. 

In case you didn't notice our venue has a new sidewalk sign. Feel free to pose for a picture next week where we will host an anual silly team in silly situation photo shoots in front of the Blue Star after the nights events. We saw both team Ramrod and team I.C.U.P. set a pretty high bar for the silly as seen earlier by the facebook photo. It was my pleasure to be their first and hopefully not their last Geeks Who Drink Pub Quiz night. As always it was my pleasure hosting and can't wait to see you all next week.
