Quiz: Sloan's Bar and Grill, Wednesday nights, 9-11pm Life: Denver vs. the World, Daily, 24 hours...
Tina (Tina the Bold)

It's really quite simple:  ask Quiz teams to think of the three living Supreme Court Justices.  Sandra Day O'Connor!  Yes!  Anyone else?  Might as well be Idi Amin:  Dead to us.  Dead to us all.

Beyond that, Canada Dry Swedish Meatballs of Intentional Grounding ... who the fruit was thinking of Wales as anything less than a Dragon?  Seriously Get the GoT out of here!  *ahem*  Yes, our resident Scotsman was in for his last Quiz, as he returns to the Islands on Monday.  Alas, while GWD has strongholds throughout the US, we're not in the UK... yet... .  Denver will miss you, David N.

Saw some lovely scores and excellent timing with the Quiz.  But to start it all off beautifully, Erin W. brought me a six-pack of her chickens’ eggs!  I love living in Colorado even more when something like this happens.  To top it off, she had them delicately wrapped in a Lego bag.  Thank you!

J-Dawg was the winner of the Internet Bonus Question Prize, which makes him a delighted owner of the coveted Obey Your Quiz Master pint glasses.  He tried so hard to make a serious, if not distinguished, picture, but deep in the heart of the Quiz is silliness.  Cheers!

My Rumblers, Carnage Asada, took 1st place and ran with it; it was a very solid performance.  They were followed by Twinkie Christ, who kept a strong grip on 2nd.  3rd place was a tie between the gentlemen of DWG and the awesome of X-Macaquex One (which is actually kind of hard to say!).  Milk Steak wore polka-dots and played into 4th place.  Teo N. informed me that not all of My Dixie Wrecked would be in town for the Quiz.  I’m sure they were having grand adventures, but the team suffered a 5th place blow.  Newbies DZ played early on, and plummeted as the scores developed in later rounds—they didn’t finish last, merely 6th.  As for Lu-C?  Last place with a miserable score.

Let’s do what we can to get the rains in Colorado.  Otherwise, be safe and see you all next week!

Tina (Tina the Bold)

What an interesting Quiz, my dears!  Saw some beautiful results in round seven, and then the scores flip-flopped almost entirely.  Yes, I say almost because Super Star collapsed to a perfect zero.  Rare indeed, the null score brought a giggle of pity to me.  As I pulled myself out of that black hole of a score, I bore witness to a delicate balance in pursuit of first.  Allow me to review:

Lex was the winner of the Internet Bonus Question Prize, a Jesus Rocks magnet sticker.  I certain that it will be put to good use.  *ahem*

Now Lex had a teammate, Rachel, who had just returned from winning mucho monies on Jeopardy—which seemed like an advantage for the entire team.  Round two came and went with mixed results across the board.  Round three was a virtual fail.  Round five was pure awesome; and then, round seven.  It was the perfect pitch for Carnage Asada to vault their chances at 1st.  Sneaking in with great scores back-to-back, Walkie Macaquies took 2nd with nary a glance around.  This placed them one point ahead of the “gifted” team, leaving Poop Train Conductor in 3rd place, a contemplative space to wonder what happened.  My Dixie Wrecked slid into 4th (it’s like Awesomer were here in spirit!), pushing Shart of Gold into 5th place.  Alas, I already apologized to the team, because we had a young lady present I could not really read their name into the microphone without scandalizing the family:  The Rapist for 200 Alex should only be said one way.  Either way, they took 6thBottom Drops Out separated from the first place team and found themselves in 7th… but being friends, I can guarantee a sweet ending for all.  Said family unit played almost the whole Quiz, despite the youngster’s interest in her technology.  They were Sweet, Sweet Ridge and came in 8th overall.  The single-round team of O Connor might’ve gotten last place with their single-digit score.  But wait!  Super Star rose to the occasion and took a fat zero for his miserably answered round.  Such chivalry is rare.  Enjoy it.

See you cats next week!  Until then, stay awesome.

This blog owes itself to the powers of the Interwebs.  Seriously, without modern technology all hope would have been lost.  With deepest gratitude to the inventors of the smart phone, the internet, and to the men who shared a car and a computer—my notes and memory are nothing without the ability to post online!

Beyond that, what a great Quiz!  Thank you, Deme, for inquiring about the Rumble.  As discussed, it’s open to anyone, and the best will reap financial rewards (plus glory).  Take a look over the geekswhodrink.com site, and if you still have questions, hit me up.  I strongly encourage participation!  Let’s see a fine Sloan’s team take first place!  Boom!

Naomi O. was the winner of the Internet Bonus Question Prize.  Is it weird to say that due to the Serbian Army, she now owns a Kim Jong-un tongue scraper?  Something about the Supreme Leader in your mouth.  You bet it’s weird… weirdly awesome.  Enjoy!

Our interesting scoring can be seen in the photo.  What a surprise with round seven!  All of a sudden, it was a battle for 2nd place of the likes no one has seen before.  Taking 1st with grace were The Gentlemen Honey Farmers.  In a bang-bang placing for 2nd, Neato Burrito bested the competition by a single point.  3rd place went to National Macaquey League, who bested Life Liberty and something about shots by a mere point again.  Kancho came in 5th, again by a point, and that knocked My Dixie Wrecked into 6th—by a point as well—to tie with Tits and GigglesVery Impressive Odors were thusly 7th... and due to a terrible round seven, they were separated by more than one point.  Finally, last place went to Detroit Sucks, and they did (although that’s just the Quiz; they were real nice people).

A serious nail-biter regarding scores, my dears.  Enjoy this beautiful week!  See you next Wednesday—get ready to Rumble!
