Jeanette (Jtown)

Jeanette Cerami is a professor of Silly Bitchery.  She is part of the improv groups KillScreen and F'actors. She's also in a sketch show with Shack Over There Productions at the Voodoo Comedy Playhouse. She teaches small children how to be silly as well as directs for Rocky Mountain Theatre for Kids.  When she's not teaching others to be silly or being silly on the spot, she likes to cuddle with willing participants, as well as dress in fun costumes even if the occasion doesn't call for such (see profile picture). She also has a dual Bachelor's in Theatre and International Studies from the University of Denver, but her reading capabilities might make you guess otherwise.  Let's just be honest here, her degree in Silly Bitchery has been put to way better use. Let's call a spade a spade.

3 years ago I started a job that I had been hoping and praying to have the opportunity to audition for since my senior year in college.  The idea of getting paid to host a weekly "trivia" game at a bar where the host is not only allowed to razz the players,  but encouraged to drink with them as well, how could this be anything but amazing?  Well, my instincts were correct, and being a Quizmaster for 3 years at 5 different venues regularly has been one of the coolest things I've done in my life yet.  Hopefully that will change, which is why I'm moving onwards and hopefully upwards.  Last night was my last quiz here in Denver as a Quizmaster, and it was a fan-fucking-tastic time!  Thanks for Chris for coming to take over the quiz for me, he wound up babysitting a drunk QM towards the end and reading the answers to the final few, he's going to do great!

A Quizmaster icon (mascot?) was brought to life last night when Stefani, a fellow QM, showed up with not one but TWO costumes of our beloved angry hampster- Ching Chong.  I apologize for the racism this character embodies, but it was fucking funny and amazing.  It went great with the theme that I came with- Mexi-Con.  I brought back a beloved favorite from Geek Bowl V at the Fillmore, I thought it only appropriate since I got my QM nickname from there that has been a part of my identity ever since- Señorita Cholula.  I acknowledge that I look NOTHING like this hot sauce icon, but I was named this and it stuck.  Of course, every woman looks ten times better with a mustache, so that is why I sported one and offered them up to anyone who didn't have costumes for the last Hurrah!  We had more than a few takers, and it was a hoot. I was flattered and ecstatic when Jessica, Jamie and Andy made the trek all the way down from Fort Collins to come to my quiz!  ALSO! My favorite Elm teams were there, Morally Bankrupt (decked out in costumes!!) and Z-Unit, and newly hooked team Cobras! (sportin the Quail-man!).  I met some of the best people I'll ever know through hosting at Geeks Who Drink, even romantic encounters that I'll never forget (yea, I went there).  Mike and Jenny have become a permanent part of my life, starting out their quiz career at my quiz at The Glenn in Northglenn.  Together we have caused quite the ruckus at quizzes, the back and forth sass has been some of the most memorable moments in my quizzin'.

Of course, I'll never forget that Derek came up and hosted with me on St. Patty's when his quiz was cancelled in the Springs, we did terrible Irish accents and people pretty much hated us, whoops! Not to mention the fact that he's put me in TWO visual rounds, hoping for more now that my presence at quiz will be more behind the scenes (wink wink, nudge nudge).

Another un-gentleman I'd like to mention is Logan, who trained with me, then took over my venue, then continually made an asshat of himself and me whenever we were at the same quiz.

Thanks to everyone who made this chapter of my life memorable, I appreciate you very very much.  I'm constantly amazed at the love and grace people have towards me, and I hope I do them the service of returning that love and appreciation.  Hopefully I'm moving on to greener pastures, as they say.  We won't know until it happens, so off I go to make it happen!  I love you Denver Geeks Who Drink, thanks for making me a part of your tribe!
