Kyle (Kyle the Girl)

I'm Kyle. I'm a girl. Yeah, that's right, a girl. A Star Wars loving, BBC watching, Mel Brooks quoting, Monty Python dancing, Ginger girl! Think I'm not geek enough for this? Come to my quiz and find out!

Seriously, you know that pinball song that counts up to 12 that used to play on Sesame Street? If I had more time I’d definitely make a quiz by quiz playlist and tonight’s would have included that for Round 1, titled: You Can Count on Me. Luckily most of my teams got the theme and therefore did amazing on that round…it kinda went downhill from there.

Round two was on Wine and Women, I’m not sure where the wine fit in but the women did. Playing to a mostly male crowd I was met with some of the worst answers/comments I’ve had in a while. Oh well…brush it off right?

Round 3 was a Say When, always an adventure. Most questions got cut off after the first clue, and most teams bombed this round. I’m not sure what to say other then maybe I should instigate that “minus one for saying when” rule that most people want me to. I’m trying to be nice here people, can’t you help me help you?

I’m not sure how Pittsburg Penguins fit in to a round on Blues (music, color) and Brothers (brothers, and the movie, Blues Brothers).

I went for the wussy Round 5 this evening. I’m not proud of it. I usually go for the usual round, but as I was looking at the visual round on my work computer (yes, I print the rounds at work usually) I was overcome with this embarrassment that I couldn’t print the round and get it from the printer…it just wasn’t going to happen. And no way would I let the Kinko’s guy in on my embarrassment. As a result we bombed the famous person “how they died” round. Sorry, but at least my dignity is in tact.

For the record, Roger Rabbit wasn’t imaginary, everyone could see him. Also, Folsom isn’t the oldest prison in California. The oldest belonged to the Spanish Missionaries (makes sense) and was called San Quentin. Did you know there was a time when a song titled “Thank Goodness for Little Girls” wasn’t dirty, it was just a song? I didn’t think so.

There are more airplane movies out there then I originally thought. Not only the 8 we asked about in Round 7, but the many, many more wrong answers I got. For the record, everyone should see Airplane!, Fight Club, Catch Me If You Can,  and View From the Top. I’m not sure that they are good replications of air travel, but they are at least entertaining.

Fun fact: the first two people to play Twister (the game) on TV were Johnny Carson and Eva Gabor. Also for the record, I didn’t star opposite Mike Meyes in a Austin Powers movie…I know that girl in the bikini looked like me, but I swear it wasn’t.

Until next week, stay geeky!
