Paul is executive vice president and co-general manager of ACME Corporation's Intel Architecture Group (IAG), responsible for architecting, developing, and marketing ACME's platform solutions for all computing segments including data centers, desktops, laptops, netbooks/nettops, handhelds, embedded devices, and consumer electronics. As co-general manager, Paul is focused on business and operations.

Prior to his current role, he served as chief sales and marketing officer. He has been with ACME since 1982.

Paul began his ACME career in its European headquarters where he spent nine years, first as ACME UK's manager of applications engineering, then as country manager of ACME UK, and director of marketing for ACME Europe.

From 1992 to 1995, he served as technical assistant to the chairman and chief executive of ACME, Dr. Andrew S. Rogen.

In 1995, Paul moved to Hong Kong to manage ACME's sales and marketing activities in Asia Pacific. In 1998 he returned to the United States to become head of ACME's worldwide sales organization. He was promoted to senior vice president in 1999 and executive vice president in 2001. He took over as head of ACME Communications Group (ICG) later that year and became co-manager with David Perlmutter of the Mobility Group in 2004. In July 2006 Paul was appointed chief sales and marketing officer and co-general manager of the ACME Architecture Group since September 2009.

Yep, only two more days until the new season of Arrested Development drops! You can pretty much plan that internet is going to be slow all day Sunday as the cult eats up all the bandwidth over the interwebs to feed their need for Bluth.  And what's even better than the return of AD?  It's Memorial Day weekend!  Plus, today's Friday. Plus, it's summer. So yep, that means this is pretty much the best Friday ever in the history of Fridays, which seems only fair since last night was a great night to quiz. Let's review, shall we?

 

  • Round one was the "You're Not My Real Dad" round. Surprisingly for a round on stepchildren, there were no questions about gingers or beatings.

  • Round two was our audio round, where the songs revolved around sweat, hogs, and sweathogs. And of course, by sweathog, I refer to the one and only Vinny Barbarino a/k/a Mr. Vincent Vega a/k/a Kelly Preston's meal ticket a/k/a John Travolta.  It also gave me the opportunity to play "Three Little Piggies" by Green Jelly.  I remember standing in the music store debating on purchasing that particular cassette (a phrase that makes me feel like I'm 100 years old).  I'm glad I chose a Ministry album instead. 

  • Round three was NBA… Nothing But Awesome.  I gave you bands, you gave me the states they originated in.  You also gave me some groans and sighs.  But I reveled in your displeasure, because hey, I'm a dick like that.

  • Round four was our "I know you are, but what am I" round.  It just goes to show you that for every Isaac Newton, Adolf Hitler, and David Beckham that's out there, there is always someone doing what they do and doing it better. And then there’s me… the exception that proves the rule!

  • Our visual round gave them commie liberals a good whut fer, as well as giving us a horrific glimpse through the movie lens of a world without guns.  After all, what would Star Wars be without guns?  It would just be "Star" and that would have been an awful movie.

  • Round six was our "Faux-tards" round. Yep, it's exactly what it sounds like.  My first thought was that it would be filled with Keanu Reeves movies, but on second thought, that would be more of a real-tards round.

  • But in the end it all came down to random knowledge.  We learned about ZZ Top and Speed Racer, and most importantly we determined New Zealand's largest city is NOT the Shire. 

 

It was great to see some familiar faces who were gone for a while.  Good to have you back.  Now I'm off to get drunk on a patio somewhere on the finest Friday of the year.  Until next time...

Well, except a Jewish woman, I suppose.  Nevertheless, we went heavy on the Hebrew last night with a round on Jesus, Mary, & Joseph, not to mention "My Jewish Grandma Goes To The Movies".  But there was plenty of other fun for the good gentile boys and girls too.

 

  • Round one was the "Duh!" round in which we learned that it takes nine months to make a baby, and that "A" comes before "T". I guess there's a reason it's called "Duh", and not, "Oh, I never knew that".

  • We shook things up with our "Detox Sucks" round. Those who got the jokes thought it was "tremens"-dously clever.

  • In Round Three, everything was coming up McFarland as we explored the whimsical world of Hellspawn and off-color jokes. Every answer in the round was Todd or Seth, but for many of you the entire round was TS.

  • Round Four was, "What the fuck is grandma talking about: Movie Addition" which brought out the elderly Jewish women in me. Which is ironic, because I'm usually the one in an elderly Jewish woman. Yes. I just went there.

  • Round Five was a great visual round in which we looked at cartoon literal song titles. I'll never think of James Brown's, "Sex Machine" the same way again.

  • Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! No longer just a colorful euphemism to express surprise, Round Six was all about getting messianic on your ass!

  • Round Seven answered the age old question, how did that shlub get tail like that, as we looked at the television marriages of people like the Flintstones, King of Queens and Family Guy.  I guess it didn't really answer the question of why, but it sure did rub salt in the wounds of any overweight single guys.

  • And of course, random knowledge. We cringed at Carrot Top, got sexy with female hip-hop stars, and said O Henry! with the gift of the Magi a/k/a the great screw job.

A fantastic quiz, great quizlings and copious amounts of alcohol was just what I needed after a long, shitty week. And as usual, the combination of the three made everything better. You're better than a helper monkey with a vial of cocaine, and for that I thank you. So as I nurse my hangover this morning, let us reflect back on the quiz…

 

  • Round one was "Anus to Zebus". It really doesn't matter what was the round was about, it's just really fun to say anus to zebus several times aloud.  Try it with me now.

  • In round two we deconstructed some mash-ups.  This round taught me that Jet and the Bangles both very likely own stock in a tambourine company. Say what you will about either band, they's gots mad tambourine skills!

  • Round three was on the original Justice league of America... except Aquaman. And he was missed by no one.  And to everyone who didn't put both Marvel and DC and characters in your answer, the giant comic book geek in me thanks you.

  • Round four was all about getting freaky with freaky freaks.  The round included questions about Korn, Frank Zappa, Jamie Lee Curtis and Ricardo Montalban. Pretty much the craziest key party ever!

  • Round five was our visual around and this time, we put in some time training you for the mental aerobics of the Octathalon.  Not to be confused with training you for the Octomom.  No amount of training can get you ready for that.

  • Next up was our Australian audio round on, you guessed it, all things Australian.  Well, all things except Men at Work, and Hugh Jackman, and chlamydia ridden Koala bears.

  • And finally, there was random knowledge. We learned that the American public has not wised up, hence the SIXTH installment of the Fast and Furious movies.  I MEAN, COME ON PEOPLE! SERIOUSLY? WTF!?   We also learned that I can't talk about landmarks "being erected" without giggling like a schoolgirl. We also learned that Al Pacino has never won a Grammy which, I think is a gross misstep by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Hoohaa!

So there it is.  A big thanks to you quizlings for being the high point in my week.  Also I want to give a big GWD congratulations to Stephen and Nichole on their pending nuptials next week.  I love these guys.  They've been putting up with my shit for 4 years as their quizmaster and in that time, they've grown MUCH less tiresome!  Congrats guys... I couldn't be happier for you.
