Is It Time for Naked Cartwheels?

Queen Kelly

April showers bring May snowstorms in Colorado, so naturally that meant that we were getting hit with a doozy yesterday. Because of course we were.

The quiz kicked off with a question referencing Zuul from Ghostbusters, which HAD to be a good sign, right?  Also in that first round, we learned that the current President has two scoops of ice cream for dessert, but only lets everyone around him have one. Now, if that isn’t perhaps the most accurate way in the history of the universe to learn who a person really is….

Round 2 was an audio round all about secrets, and it’s fine you guys, Russia knows them all. Round 3 had you guessing whether I was talking about Ridley Scott or Daisy Ridley, and revealed me to be an even bigger Star Wars nerd than I generally give myself credit for, since I knew about “Force of Destiny” already.

The visual round was a nod to American Craft Beer Week, where you can find out more at craftbeer.com if you are so inclined. I mean, we live in Colorado, so I’m just going to assume you’re all quite familiar with craft beer. I’m also not going to admit that I knew 7 of the answers immediately, but if I was going to admit that, I’d make the argument that it is just because of how many times I have been to GABF, not that I drink that much beer. Winky face.

I was playing the music from the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie, which sorta made sense with the Guardians and Galaxies round, except that only the bonus question had anything to do with the franchise. “I am Groot”.

Round 7 was so awful that it was entertaining, and for good measure I played through them again during the answers just so you all could hear eight people butchering “Take Me Out to the Ballgame”. Oh, Mr. T. I don’t think you’ll ever be a back up singer.

The best wrong answer of the night, as well as first place, goes to What’s In The Box? for guessing that adult swordfish lose their foreskin, which creates all kinds of arguments about whether they are still kosher. I could go so many directions with that one…

Finishing in second were Do Nameless Teams Dream of Confused Robots? I don’t have an answer for you on that one, but I am going to try to find some more tiny hats for next week.

ALL THE TINY HATS!

Speaking of next week, it’ll be my one year anniversary hosting here at Old Chicago. It’ll be so special. The best night ever. Yuge.

Have a good weekend. I get to go camping in this winter wonderland. Be jealous.

I'm a writer, a doula, a cosplayer, a habitual swearer, and a long list of other things. I moonlight as Wonder Woman. Apparently, I also read quizzes to people. Behave. Or don't. Whatever. I'll probably yell at you regardless. If you tell me that I'm possessed and need to bathe in holy water, we can't be friends.
