The Oriental Theater
Denver
Tickets on sale at noon Monday, December 10th.
It's our second annual pub quiz contest where your team can compete with the best from Fort Collins to Albuquerque and Denver to Grand Junction for cash money. But more importantly, serious bragging rights throughout the empire of Geekdom.
This year's contest will be emceed by a man internationally protected as one of UNESCO's living cultural legends. You know him from Westword. You know him from Los Comicos Super Hilariosos. Now know him as a wrangler of the drunken hordes.
We present: Adam Cayton-Holland.

Food. Beer. Dammit, the quiz you've waited all year for!
You can use the link to your right to check in on this post. It's where we'll collect all of the information you need to know about Geek Bowl. And we'll make sure all of the important information hits the front page of the blog.
A little something to get you started...
Geek Bowl 2008 (In)frequently Asked Questions
1. How long will this year's event run?
We're still finalizing the details, but can offer just about every assurance that it will clock in well under last year's 6-hour marathon session. Plus, this shit goes down on a Saturday night for the benefit of you geeks who get up before noon on the weekdays.
2. How much cash will be in this year's prizes?
We'll update as ticket sales and sponsorships roll in. Just like last year we guarantee a return of at least half of the ticket sales as prizes.
3. When should I buy my ticket?
Well, last year's Geek Bowl sold out, and this year we're quizzing with twice as many of you each week. Doing some rough math we say: immediately?
4. Is any geographic area favored to win this year?
The one you're from, of course. The quizzing is strong as ever in Ft. Collins, Denver, and Colorado Springs, but there's been rumbling (and shit talking) in the new cities that came on this year: Gunnison, Grand Junction, Albuquerque, Loveland and Canon City.
5. How did you get Adam Cayton-Holland to agree to emcee this year?
Thankfully it's still easy to buy amyl nitrate in Denver. Now, if you know of a place we can buy Scope by the case we're in business...
6. Will DJ Magic Cyclops be making a return appearance?
For the right amount of money.
7. I heard you have to have a girl to get a girl, so I'm thinking of bringing a hooker to Geek Bowl. What do you think?
Friend, there ain't nothin' wrong with a hooker. Except possibly crabs, but you can get rid of those. Unless you're a vegan. If you're vegan, you've just made some lifelong friends. And there ain't nothin' wrong with friends.
More information to come...
