When we arrived at Opal's, it had been a long day for both of us. After some grub and beer (yay, Pint Night!), we were ready to go... but the dark clouds overhead motivated us to go old-school and give you the quiz from the weather-friendly upstairs balcony, giving us all an up close and personal quiz.

Only problem with up close and personal is the urge newcomers have to yell in my face about what they thought an answer was, or to give me a play-by-play of their thoughts about my questions, comments, and the quiz in general. If you were at Opal's tonight, you know who I'm talking about. WTF was up with that guy?

Anyway, the scores at the top were pretty close, with just 1 point separating the top placing teams. In 1st, we had No, YOU Take Out the Trash, Dad, but just one point behind them was 2nd placer Who is Driving? OMG Beer is Driving!

chelsea's corner:
yeah, that guy was outta control fo sho. but thats what happens when you have 3 shakers of martinis or whatever the hell he was drinking. but i digress. there were a lot of you tonight and a lot of ruckus. it was nice to see everybody having a good time. i especially enjoyed it when we got to round 7. it was the movie quote round and everyone was quoting along with the clips. it sounded really good, funny, and promising. you all did pretty well. thanks for the good times. and buddy that was yelling, thanks for nothing.

So tonight was pretty awesome for a number of reasons.
1. I love it when you applaud.
2. Pint Night makes drinking Newcastle totally affordable.
3. The Freehouse had their misters blowing all through the quiz. Soft wet drops of cool love.
4. There were 13 teams!
5. We gave away the Go Intercourse Yourself lip balm email prize to a BOY!

We had lots of new teams, but only love for the regulars. In 2nd place, For British Eyes Only!, and in first New Black Panther Pizza Party.

Chelseas Corner:
what a night. the misters were a real treat. they made it feel like it wasnt 90 something degrees outside. good quiz. the back to the future round was pretty harsh. one team wrote on the answer sheet that no one on their team had seen it. um, im sorry, but do you live in america? do you not know about the power of love? well, huey and his news are very upset with you. go watch it! right now! that is all.

Great quiz tonight! One team got a perfect on like 4 rounds. Kinda awesome. They took home the gold! That team was Hello.jpg. They pretty much mopped the floor with the rest of the teams. But that's how it goes sometimes.

As usual, we had a great time with you guys. Everyone was in a really great mood, and did rather well on the quiz. Round 2, Sometimes Rap Lyrics Are Hilarious, stumped everybody, while The Non Golden Girls round landed everyone with a solid 6 points. Every single team.

Whoa, it was super effin' hot outside. But knowing that NY is even hotter than down here in Austin made it seem a little better. Opal's hooked it up pimp-style with the misters, which kept us cool and dewy all night.

You kept us cool and dewy too, with your singing along with the TV Theme Songs, especially when I played Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. All of us apparently know nothing of the Apostles of Jesus Christ, especially when I couldn't pronouce Matthius. Probably the best round of the night was Find the Willy, where you had to find all the Williams. I was wondering why Will.I.Am wasn't in the picture. Oh wait, because he's a douche.

I remember that show living single. it was kind of awesome that a lot of people knew the words to the theme song. i watched it, but i never knew all the words. there was a team that scored a perfect on that round and sang along to every one of them. i told them that they watch too much tv. i believe i took 3 showers today. either i was really dirty or it was just that hot. or both...i never tell. i might. if you come to quiz next week. oh, and i usually never remember what i write in this thing, so if you elude to something i wrote in this to me, i wont get it. out.

In other news, "no more than 6 people on your team or sitting at your table" means just that! If you have a friend show up that "isn't playing", then you "are disqualified". Don't get sassy, it's just a pub quiz, people.
