Wednesday Whiskey; a bar singing Bohemian Rhapsody together; the lovely sound of the Vuvuzela. Now really, does Denver ever get better? OK, OK… perhaps it does, but we had a damn good time at Sloan’s regardless. We began the night with the ever delightful Mystery Round. Mike G. promptly began his night monopolizing the bonus questions. I guess some of us use that phrase more than others! *smiles* Because we were a rather intimate number of teams, the quiz moved swiftly. Carly was the winner of tonight’s Internet Bonus question:
She holds the undoubtedly weird Onion Ring Breath Mints. Mmmmmmmm! The kissing capacity of those are endless!
Recall I mentioned the awesome power of Mike G.’s bonus rounds. It was so cool that I had to snag his winning sheet:
I love to see my quizzlings drinking for free!
Still, the Quiz was forced to go on without the attendance of some of my favorite teams. Where was my Dumpster Baby? My Boner in Sweatpants? Where was My Couch Pulls Out, I Do Not? Sugar, you came back—stay! And the Mean Spirited Losers might be new, but without their drawings, what will I do all night long? Ooooooooh, I almost cried. But then I took a shot of Jameson to fortify my heart, and proceeded about the night with fierce determination. Taking 1st place, Death To Vuvuzela gave me an excellent excuse to play that annoying horn over the sound system. Please forgive me, Sloan’s. Following the, the Fuzzy Green Balls seized 2nd, even though Steve was not there… or maybe because he wasn’t. Hmmmmmm. Hot on their heels, The Dutch Blumpkins almost won a number of bonus beers, and had to settle for 3rd. With half their score, Team Tim Allen ousted both Funny But True and Bark at the Narlz-- but that’s what they get when they drop in to play only a couple rounds.
Genevieve gets a personal Wall of Awesome photo, because she knew that Freddie Mercury of Queen was born in Zanzibar. I have a long-running love affair with Zanzibar, and she confirmed the glory.
Death to Vuvuzela felt this whole quiz just a little bit deeper. But that’s to be expected. They are saving up all their 1st place gift certificates to have one hell of an epic brunch come midsummer. Way to set a goal!
Craig very nicely introduced himself and delivered Steve’s hello. To which I reply: Nice to meet you, Craig, and have fun in Telluride, Steve! Yes indeed, this team are the Fuzzy Green Balls.
If you’re gonna go blumpkining, you might as well do it dutch, right? That’s how The Dutch Blumpkins approached it. And plural! Wow!
