As you all know by now, Auld Dubliner is not signing an actual contract for Sunday night quiz. You can still catch the quiz on Wednesday at Dubliner and I will continue to play Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody at the end of the quiz. I have started Geekswhodrink at Playground Bar & Lounge on Monday nights at 8PM.

As quizzers filed in, one thing was apparent; there was a team full of foxy ladies (and 1 dude) who were out for geek blood. Yep, The Beastiality Boys came prepared to slaughter audio rounds, as well as identify animal asses. They came out victorious, earning 1st place in quiz and a 2 syllable “daaa-mn” for their dresses.
Occasionally there is a tie for 2nd place, which usually leads to a dance off. Last night, Thermite and the Termites and The Jailbird Stallions had to compete in this glorious tradition, sending up their best representative to break it down. Let me set the scene a bit…music selection: Brickhouse by the Commodores. Kelsey of the Termites was looking a bit apprehensive about things when Alex from the Stallions started stretching. Then, he undulated against poles and did trick dance moves on bar stools. Kelsey quickly dropped out, having been shamed by such a scandalous dancer.
Caribbean Joe and Island Amy joined us, even though Amy wrote like half the quiz. They had some laughs, some drinks, but mostly they were there to support. Thanks, you guys!
I love a good “Duh” round. Your little faces are priceless, because I tell you not to over think these questions, and then I see you thinking about not over thinking, sometimes arguing. If you didn’t know, the Batman is afraid of bats. Three of the Marlboro men have died of lung cancer. Oh yeah, Tina Fey’s real first name is Elizabeth like on her show. Also, she is the best thing since sliced bread.
Round 4: Things Girls Compare Your Small Penis To was a real crowd pleaser. By the end of the round I could tell that some fellas were a little ashamed, just not the ones that were humping the air and yelling Gherkin.
Remember when I said that there was a round on identifying animal asses? Yeah, that happened. Round 5: She Likes It From Behind featured pictures of gorilla, tarantula, and turtle ass. It struck me as odd that the entire bar cheered for camel ass when I gave answers, but y’all are some strange folks.
Thanks to all my regulars for your continued show of support, especially through the bullshit construction we have to endure. We’ll be missing all of the ones that had to leave us for the Summer. Arienne, so glad you spent your last night in town with us. Sean is already playing GWD back home in Syracuse – I better still be your favorite QM when you get back.

Upon my arrival at the Dubliner, Paul and Steven regaled me with an awe-inspiring tale of one man’s quest to build the perfect stage. It would be the center piece for drunken jam sessions, pub quizzes, and horrible stand-up comedy. The man worked diligently, spilling his blood, sweat, and tears into the stage. He even broke both of his fore-arms building it (not really). Finally, he had constructed a platform about 4 inches off the ground and was satisfied. The stage I’m talking about is the very one I QM from at the Auld Dubliner. The man, the legend is Kevin. We miss you, dude!
None of the rounds had to do with moms or matriarchy, so, I don't feel especially inclined to write about the quiz.
