I've been a Geeks Who Drink quizmaster for almost five years. I was the first to host a quiz outside of Colorado. I work full time for Geeks, editing the weekly Geek In Review column, handling all our e-mail lists, outreach, website, private events and whatever else they tell me to do in exchange for a paycheck to feed my habit of good scotch and good video games.

I'm actually Jewish, not really of viking descent, like the Tim Robbins movie, and met my lovely wife when I offered her extra points on round 8 in exchange for a lifetime of dealing with my child-like tantrums.

Although to be fair, that team that "won flowa on naahil," were the real racists in the room. Still, it was a great intoduction to QM Jason, visiting us from Oregon who sat in on our quiz last night to give Fernando a round off. Also, he edits the quiz, so he wasn't going to be able to play it anyway, so I figured I'd just put him to work.

Last night was filled with more than myself, Fernando, and Jason though. In total, seven Quizmasters were at O'Niell's. They would have won the quiz, too, but I wasn't going to let anyone else in my company steal my shine, dammit. So, I bumped 'em out of the running so that you, my lovely quizzers, had a chance to win and then rub it in their faces.

And it was good. How good? Well, remember when I said last night during our subreddits round that someone needs to make a r/RestoomReviews before the end of the night?

Well, IT EXISTS! Geeks Who Drink's greatest contribution to the world. It's been live for 12 hours. Make it the best subreddit ever guys!

Quiz Schedule

Mountains over monuments, chile over chili, and hops that just about tear your face off.  Also, I really like to get down on Friday.  Try to understand.

Because I totally played the Polyphonic Size's seminal 1982 cover version of that song, and nobody really cared too much.  Dude, it's so good.

This weekend was a gale force wind of truly comic book proportions.  To say that events were "done up" doesn't even come close to the heart of the last several days; they were simply epic, and now I need a little normalcy.  I'm not sure what to do with all this newfound emptiness.

Last night's quest was as motherly as possible; (Other) Eric attempted to align our maternals beneath one microphone to read a round for you guys, but mine wasn't quite feeling up to it, so his marvelous plan will have to be realized another holiday.  Also, I'm not sure how or why our Sunday's Finest was in Mach-5, but holy hell did we cruise through that one like Speedracers.  

Until next time, wherein we'll be inundated with Quizmasters from near and far (our yearly gathering is this weekend in Taos!), I'll check you then.  In the meantime, try not to be thrown off a building, and dance me until the end of love.

Of course last night's quiz was more than just moobs, that was just how we chose to start our quiz. Nothing says hunker down for 2 hours of quiz like starting off the night thinking about how Kevin James Has a career.

From there it was a musical trip through Captain Planet. We hit all the hot topics: pollution, ecology, heart, earth, wind, fire, and... California. The power is in you!

Then we had our speed round. Did anyone else appreciate the Weird Al musical accompaniment as much as I did? Also, I'm as shocked as you are that BBC wasn't a part of it, but Daily Mail, a much gossipier news rag was. Oh, internet.

Fernando read round 4. Why? Because if you're going read a round with foreign words, you want your voice-actor co-host to shine. That and I'd butcher the fuck out of those beautiful languages with my typical 'merican pronunciation. French and I will never be friends.

Our visual round was all about the fast food you can cook yourself. I'll admit, I've chowed down on the frozen White Castle burgers before, but can you blame me? I grew up near a White Castle. Sometimes the urge gets a hold of me. Buying a bottle of creamy Taco Bell sauce though? NOPE.

Then came our rounds on wars and treaties. It made me think. Manachem Begin got name checked in a song, but I can't think of any that feature Agamemnon. Surely there has to be a badass epic metal song recounting the tale of Agamemnon fighting a war only to have his wife murder his ass upon his return, right?

After an audio round on true"ish" stories, we came to our final round. Way too many of you forgot about the magic of Kris Kross and at least one of you confused Kid n' Play with them. That's racist, my friends. In the end, it was these three not racist teams that won the quiz:
