Yea, that’s not what the song is called. Look this up. Commit it to memory. Whatever you need to do.  I need you all to listen now and remember this: the song is called “Baby Got Back.”  Back in my day, you had to know that to graduate from high school. It is a classic, just like “The Thong Song.”  If you claim to be coherent in the 90’s, and have your hearing, you should know that.  

As for the musical rounds tonight, apparently there weren’t enough theater majors in the building. All the answers to round 7 were gimme points... if you’re awesome. Based on that fact, it’s also safe to safe you are a theatre major, really in love with the broadway, or gay.  I can say that safely, trust me ;)

The one way you know pub quiz is almost over is when people start acting like my 9th grade summer school students: they all start talking and finding snacks to eat.  Tonight at Treff’s the staff fired up their popcorn machine and made some movie magic happen. It looked like my dreams.  Everyone found the popcorn, but forgot to find a map a map of Europe.  As I remind my students of definitions of “big words,”  I can’t help but want to remind everyone that continental means attached, and thus England doesn’t count.  Sorry I am not sorry. 

One last thing, just incase this comes up in pub quiz: Chad loves Jager.  If you don’t know who Chad is, you really need to get to know your bar staff at Treff’s.

Another wonderful evening of 2 dollar you call it’s at Treff’s Tavern! If you didn’t know about two dollar you call it week you’ve probably been under a rock because it’s the most wonderful week of the month, and it’s upon us!  One team was cautious though about the cheap drinks and titled their team as a warning to others: don’t roofie us.  Hopefully it paid off for them.

I am sure those teams that did well on the hardcore visual round would roofie someone, because you aren’t hard core unless you live hardcore... and they are.  But I guess most people are too hardcore for Disney/Pixar films, because even when its multiple choice several of you couldn’t even get it right.  How did you get it to Texas State?  Did you just get lucky on their multiple choice questions and scrape by with enough to get it? 

On that note, I am happy to see that some hardcore teams found their way back to Treff’s tonight.  Welcome back to Vicious Kants, Pixilated Bukkake (Red Wedding), and Whiskey Tits!  We missed you, but apparently some of our newer teams are a bit frightened and think you might roofie them.  I am not saying you need to slow your role, but I am saying we should keep the illegal pharmaceuticals put away until they trust us... then roofie them all you want! (Disclaimer: Please understand that I nor anyone condones roofies and this should not be taken seriously).

No, that wasn’t the right answer to question 6, round 1 tonight, but someone thought it was.  I am not sure how to feel about myself after laughing at someone comparing Sara Jessica Parker to The Elephant Man.  Yes, it was funny... and at the same time some part of me say its wrong... as if my mind is tell me no, but my body is telling me yes.  Treff’s knows what I mean ;)

Now let’s not this one question over shadow the intensely requested sports question.  How many teams at Treff’s have been begging for a sports round?  Far too many.  Tonight, it was my pleasure to deny them of that pleasure.  What everyone should have whined for was a round on men’s sports. Any english major can tell you that when you want something you should be as specific as possible in your language.  I guess everyone forgot that women play sports too... shocking hu? Now, I am not saying that we have a bunch of sexists at Treff’s (I mean, there are a lot of women playing pub quiz here).  The reality is this, no one knew anything about lady sports.

Maybe if everyone spent as much time studying up on female sports as they do watching sexy time scenes in movies, then they could be quiz conquers.  As it stands right now, there is far to much rewinding of sex scenes in movies and not enough understanding the real world.  My advice for your summer reading list is this: pick up a damn book by or about a female athlete, and no Ru Paul doesn’t count.  

As for the end of the night, we might have had my favorite non-dance off tie breaker for 2nd place.  Tonight we had the first Treff’s Question Tie Breaker.  Basically UB41 and Alcoholic Synonymous had to be the first to write down the complete recipe for a Long Island Ice Tea.  In the end, Alcoholic Synonymous won out by a finger.. of gin.
