Good ole Harry Potter references always make me smile! Wow guys, what a turnout! I have not seen 20 teams in a very long time which means school's out for summer! I know we are all glad to see the end of the semester and have some time off before summer classes begin.  

We did not have a theme for tonight for the best team name. My brain lost all creativity for a few days until I am a certain time length away from finals. Next week, creativity will be at its highest. Although I am very happy to see that everyone else was still using their brains after finals. I still chose the best team name as usual because I cannot let my quizzers down! The best team name was Alcoholocaust. It was appropriate for the night and the amount of alcohol consumed by recent students finishing finals. 

It was very hard for the quizzers to not sing along during round 2 before the answers were given. Apparently everyone loves karaoke! It's okay you all sing very beautiful when I am drunk. 

High scores, celebrations, and lots of quizzers always make for a great night at the Taproom. Although our 1st place teams did well, they did not qualify for prizes because of the number of people on their team. Peter Piper Picked Pickled Peckers left before I could reward them for 3rd! 

What a night! Until I see you guys next week, no more studying and all partying! Be safe my lovely quizzers!

Twas the day before finals and quizzers were a buzzing. We had a solid turn out for finals week at the Taproom. I will say, if for answers you don't know you repeatedly say "fuck you", you will not be well received. In that same vein, I would like to point out that Geeks Who Drink does not discriminate when it comes to subjects in our quizzes. We like to broaden out participants horizons so they may become better people through our quizzes. So, for the team that said, "Try some real trivia like history/sports!", I say this: be more cultured. If you want a watered down, pansy version of a quiz, there are other venues that do that tee-ball shit.

With that said, it was a great night! Lots of feedback!

The theme for tonight's team names had to do with Jason Collins coming out as the first male professional athlete to be gay in the four major sports. While I respect Mr. Collins and I believe he has done something truly admirable, his situation is ripe for jokes. The best team name I got from the theme was "I Thought All Athletes Played With Balls". Kudos.

We had a tiebreaker between 2nd and 3rd place tonight which ended up with "Sexual Chocolate" taking 2nd and "Late Because Her" taking 3rd. Our champion for tonight was "Dick and Roll" with 84 points.

I appreciate everyone who came out tonight and I hope to see all of your lovely faces again. Also, I totes forgot to take pictures. Oops. Next time!

Tonight was a blast from the 90's… well at least the music was! There were 11 teams and a lot of fun to go along with them. I think some were a little nervous about our cold front and decided to stay home! Bundle up guys, it's no fun sitting at home on a Tuesday! Geez!  

There is this new thing called Texas State Confessions on Facebook and needless to say people in San Marcos have a lot to confess. So… that was the theme for the best team name. I had some great ones! I have the Bobcat Clap. Apparently that is the Texas State strand of Chlamydia. I didn't know we were cool enough to have our own strand… not really guys, it's not that cool. Anyways, enough about STD's and back to our winner. I am Fallon in love with the quizmaster. I know, I love attention but who doesn't?!

I did get hit on multiple times last night which always brightens my day. I love being the quizmaster and more so I love reading the answers you guys write down. I find it hilarious that you cuss and talk dirty when you have no clue what the answer is. So when I am laughing to myself at the tables it's because your anger is cracking me up. I am really not that crazy! 

We ended the night with a dance off to the Backstreet Boys for 2nd and 3rd place. Thanks guys for your dedication to your team! The pub always loves to watch you guys dance it out! Well until next week, study hard and party harder!
