Surprises abounded tonight!

 

It was a surprise that no one knew the full name of Rhode Island.  Whaaa?!

 

It was a surprise that round three was all the same answer.  Who knew that the word "longer" would be key to a Kim Kardashian round...??

 

But the most surprising thing about tonight's quiz?  The fact that more people sang along to "How Do I Live" than did to "I've Had the Time of my Life".  Y'all need to sort out your sing-along priorities.

Maddy was not at quiz because she was called to a secret underground bunker (whose location is known only to a handful of top-priority intelligence officials) to thwart a possible barrage of giant asteroids that are slowly approaching the Earth.  Wish her luck!

 

But that left me with the wild rumpus that is quiz.  I donned my wolf costume, stared straight into your yellow eyes, and I'd like to think we all had a pretty fun night!

 

I was surprised that no one got a pefect score on round two (Ska Covers).  One team was close, but got caught on that damned "Verve Pipe vs. The Verve" snag.  Also keeping many of you from getting a perfect round six was Elliott the dragon.  That's right, his name was Elliott, and I just loved the pained looks of dismay when I asked that question.  It was like I could see you apologizing to your childhood self for hitting the bong once too often over the years.

 

Also, looking at the scores, I guess I should stop giving y'all hints on the People Rebus visual rounds.  From now on, it's up to yer own damn self to figure out if we're referring to the actor or the character they play!

 

On that nurturing note, it was great having you at quiz!  Come back next week and find out if Maddy saved the world from utter destruction!

Tonight's quiz was fun, but I got one thing to say:  y'all need to hang out after quiz!

First of all, I had to give away the 4th place prize to 5th or 6th, just 'cause that team left so quickly; and secondly, I never got to properly thank Quizzards of Ozz for buying me a drink; and finally, I was sitting alone at Red's at 10:45 pm, with no one to enjoy my company!  Now, THAT's a real shame.

 

All that aside, thanks for quizzin' with me!  Next week the fourth place prize will be some Bird's Barbershop haircuts, so maybe some teams will be more motivated to at least wait until I come around with the prizes.  Maybe.....?
