Tonight was to be our last night at Lumpy's South. I will miss the awesome staff and the few loyal teams who kept coming back for more punishment week after week.
Anatomy wasn't everyone's strongest subject, but when it involves Spielberg's cartoon creations- well, I had elbows flying trying to get their answer to me first... with solo Cheese 4 Dinner taking the prize.
Round 3 was one of contention- not everyone understood the wording and there was some debate after the game tonight about teams that should/ should not have been on the list, but the scores weren't close enough for that to have really mattered.
I was happy to note that none of our players were familiar with Olde English 800- the beverage of choice for crackheads and hobos... but they all knew the Book of Mormon Broadway musical. That's what happens in Utah- not so much drinking... lots of ...singing? Hots For Hannah were definitely singing along to my awesome playlist...
Opera stumped them all with a very low score all around and absolutely no one getting the last question right about Strauss' German "Batman and Robin" spinoff.
3 White Guys and a Tovar took the top spot in our final game- you guys were fun... I'll miss you all.
Anyway- Lumpy's South is a great place to hang out and watch a game, grab a drink, maybe shoot some pool. Sorry I had to go, but I'll be back on my own time. So long, farewell, aufweidersehen, goodbye!

In the preceding three weeks, i've watched a sum total of all 86 episodes of the Sopranos, Godfather I & II and the first half of Goodfellas. Now, in my lifetime i've also seen Godfather III and the entirety of Goodfellas (although i accidentally saw side 2 first). In conclusion, i wanted to be in league with the top dogs of La Cosa Nostra afficianados before i was held to account in front of you people, and in the eyes of the one true god (the catholic one).
Tonight's quiz was a david v. goliath situation with Mario Puzo So Much he had to flush twice taking an early lead with Don Michael Henry Soprano fighting tooth and nail as a one man army to achieve second place.
I don't know about you, but wearing a polyester shirt, smoking a cigar and acting like no one could tell me what to do was the best part of 2013 so far.
I love you all so much for playing along tonight and i can't wait to see you at the next themed quiz.
Buono fortuna,
Guglielmo Santa Quercia

I know, I know- we all wanted to turn our attention to the television screens and zone out on the basketball game... But for the 3 teams who paid me enough attention, I rewarded them with some awesome entertainment and a few cool prizes.
Round 4 seemed to stump everyone- no one knew their Carl Jung from their Carl's Jr. Same goes for the round 7 Judge audio clips. I did give Scabagail Don't Get None "of the OJ Simpson case" as Judge Ito, but that still didn't give them enough to pull off the win.
What's Our Team Name squeaked by with first place and an impressive knowledge of balls. Yeah, yeah they were sports balls, but still...
The Real Salt Lake tickets went to one of the guys from Scabagail for knowing his Hebrew. And at the end of the night, I just started throwing t-shirts and hats at the guys to keep their attention off the basketball game long enough to announce the winners.
Thanks to all for braving the icy rain and wind to hear me and my hot air for a couple hours. You're all great! See you guys on Saturday for the Mobsters quiz on Goodfellas, The Godfather, and the Sopranos. Make sure you "leave the cannoli, take the quiz!"
